The app runs on my iPad Pro, but the icon for it is hidden. You have to start it from the search window.

This app came highly recommended because I review a lot of transcripts as an appellate lawyer. However, you can only use the annotation features if they’re in the ASCII txt format! No court reporter I work with uses that format. They only use PDF. I’m extremely angry that $89.99 is down the drain.

It’s great. I love it. But the constant crashes are getting annoying (even on new iPad Pro). An app at this price, that is meant to be used in the high pressure environment of litigation should be more stable.

I purchased this six months ago, but have only now had the opportunity to use it for a hearing. It has already cut my review and processing time in half. I now have readily available multiple cross-examination topics at the ready, areas of inconsistent statements to use, etc., and in half the time that it would normally take me to process a deposition. It's already paid for itself, leaving me time to handle other matters for the case.

it could use a wider viewing area - seems like a lot of real estate for the page and line number flags on the left. Also, it would be nice to be able to write a short note on the flags.

Love this. Now I can work at the beach, in bed, while having lunch.

This is "the" app for working with transcripts. It is just as easy to use as TrialPad and I use it all the time. Don't mess around with the other apps that try to accomplish the same thing. This app does what you need to mark up, analyze and report on the value of the information in a deposition. I speak to lawyers across the country on using iPads and I truly believe this is the standard, the best. I have no connection to the developer, I just love the app.

I really, really, really wanted to love this app. I tried and tried to get my text files to work. But for some reason, only the first line of every page of the transcript shows up. SO frustrating!!! I think it's because we video our depositions... And somehow that messes something up??? I emailed support a while back and asked them to work with my IT guy to resolve the issue. No dice. I recently re downloaded it to see if I could get it to work again. Nope. And, as I recall, customer service was not super helpful in trying to resolve this issue. Btw, I've tried this app with numerous text files across numerous cases. I can't get ANY of them to work, unfortunately.

I use TranscriptPad constantly. Terrific for noting important testimony. So much better than lugging hundreds of pages in huge notebooks. Super app!!

This has changed my whole depo outlining workflow. Read, highlight and assign issue codes, then generate and print reports, and insert into pleadings. Also excellent in depos to quickly check what was said by other witnesses.

This is a great app. Makes reviewing and summarizing depos so much more efficient. It's also great not to have to lug around a bunch of transcripts. The only thing I would like to see is that we could do the same things with PDF transcripts. If you practice law, you need this app.

Great app. My only issue is that I can't seem to create summary reports across transcripts. Usually in cases with more than one deposition, multiple depositions will touch on the same issue. Right now i have to go in to each deposition and create a report for that deposition. If there was a way to generate a report for the entire case by issue, then i think this would be a 5 star product! Even so, definitely worth the money!

I love this ap, such a time saver!

Although it does not have all of the bells and whistles of the software offered by Thomson Reuters/West, an attorney would save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, by buying an iPad and downloading this software. If prior practice still holds true an attorney must pay a monthly license fee to get the West software, and he or she will never own it. If the attorney ever ends the contract, he or she will only get a "read only" copy. My only concern is that this company will be purchased by either Thomson Reuters Or Lexis.

App is essential for a trial lawyer. Import deposition transcripts in .txt form. Then read them on your iPad. You can create issue codes which allow you to create PDF with testimony grouped by a certain issue. Very helpful for cross examination. Also allows you to read depositions on the go easier.

I'm a complex commercial litigator and I work with sophisticated applications including Summation and TrialDirector. This is an outstanding app for anyone who works with transcripts. There are additional functions that would be useful, but it does the essentials extremely well and, based upon the track record of this developer, I have no doubt we will see continuing enhancements.

I used this app for a long time and have enjoyed it. However, I just properly uploaded a deposition and it will not display the content of the depo, only a list of numbers. You can FORGET about any technical support because you have no way of speaking to a person. All support is via email and my issue was resolved the following day. The tech support totally resolved my issue. I've had this product for years and this has been my only issue.i do love this app

Transcript digesting is a crucial part of my trial prep process. It was difficult to prepare the digests when we just worked with paper transcripts, desktop/laptop software made it better, but with TranscriptPad you have the read-anywhere flexibility of a paper transcript, with the convenience and power of digital digesting and reporting tools. This is professional grade software for your iPad and it offers tremendous value for a very reasonable price.

I use this app daily to read and digest transcripts. It's indispensable and well worth the price but it sorely needs an update. The app crashes often, especially during searches. It also needs more digest format options and a better way to group exhibits with transcripts and digests.

I like the app, but it is overpriced especially comnpared to TrialPad and its feature set. As it sits, the app should cost closer to $29.99 than $89.99. Based on my experience with it, you can't justify the cost. Some things it needs: 1. Better print options (formatting). It should be able to print in a not-so-txt format/appearance. 2. There should be some default issue codes or at least the ability to create default issue codes. 3. I should be able to create a hot word index or at least a word index. 4. There are some others, but this is already getting too long. I hope the next version expands the feature set because for that price, the app is lean.

Fantastic app for summarizing and managing deposition testimony. Super efficient and accurate.

I couldn't imagine practicing law without this app. It is perfect for litigators and is easy and intuitive to use.

I really like the convenience of the app for the reasons already stated, however, there is substantial room for improvement and it appears that the company behind the software is not really interested in hearing from its customer base as a tech support number, let alone phone number for the company is non-existent. Here are some issues that need to be fixed before it can be a 5-star app" 1. Once you set an issue code, it cannot be edited or deleted. This is annoying and an unreasonable restraint on my free speech. 2. When printing out a detailed pdf report, items that were "flagged,"i.e. deemed very important by the user, do not show up in the report, only those items that were tagged with a particular issue code. This makes no sense to me. 3. When saving a pdf report in dropbox, the interface gets screwy in that it will not let you go to far into your db directory before saving it. Also, you can't see some the drobpox folders when you want to save a report, however, if you are importing a transcript, you can see all of your dropbox folders. There appears to be no rhyme or reason behind it. If we are paying $50 for an app, there should be some phone support in case we have issues. Having tech support allows a company to identify issues quickly and resolve quirks etc. and makes the user feel supported and more inclined to buy future products.

Great app, needs to be able to print reports in Word to allow edits and creation of additional columns. Most of our firm's attorneys utilize this app.

Inexplicably, not all .txt files are supported. Who knew there was a difference? I had the court reporter send me three different versions of the same .txt file and none worked. Worse, my polite and detailed email to the company was ignored. Busy lawyers do not have time for this. I gave it a two because it worked well enough before. That's not enough to continue using it.

I have a particularly deposition intensive matter with over 62 transcripts. This program makes finding key points in a pinch like shooting fish in a barrel. One iPad is much easier to tote around than 1 dozen big binders full of long transcripts. There's a learning curve to the program, but you will find that it was well worth it.

This app is not only worth the price of the app, it's worth the price of the iPad itself! I get all my transcripts in .txt format and read them in TranscriptPad. I have not used sticky notes in deposition transcripts since I downloaded this app. I print the issue summaries in PDF format and they provide all of my direct examinations and my cross-examinations.

I just started using this product 30 days ago for transcript analysis in criminal trials and find it invaluable. I am able to import transcripts from the court reporter either from email or Dropbox and analyze it by issue. I then create reports which is used in final arguments. So far I import in landscape mode and it has not crashed.

This application is wonderful for its core purpose, reviewing and summarizing transcripts. It is so good at these functions that I feel as though it should receive six stars, with one star subtracted for the extremely frustrating interface problems at the margins. The application can be as simple or (almost) as complicated as necessary or desirable. It allows me to review transcripts by highlighting, underlining, flagging, and tagging with issue codes depending upon the substance of the excerptor the purpose for which I will use it. So, my transcripts can be organized at several levels. Reports for each can be generated for each method of organizing the transcript. Or, I can just underline excerpts without regard to any other way of sorting them to keep it simple. The problem is with this application or at the margins. Getting to the task of reviewing transcript is frustrating. This application appears to have been developed very early in the development of the iPad and the iOS environment. It does not appear to have been updatedto take advantage of the general progress in the iOS environment in two ways. First, the way in which files are organized within the application does not feel intuitive. To begin reviewing a transcript requires a lot more steps and actions in nonintuitive ways than most other applications. At certain points, I have been positively mystified about how to call up the transcript to review. I can figure it out, but only by touching portions of the screen, almost randomly. That being said, once I actually have the transcript in front of me, the application is a joy to use. Second, it does not take advantage of iCloud or other cloud services that are now ubiquitous, but were rather novel in the first few years of the iPad's existence. The work I do on a transcript is confined to a particular iOS device. For idiots like me who have spent way too much money on way too many iPads, that can be a slight annoyance.

Great app. I can read depos anywhere, send emails with important excerpts, and index key portions. Perfect forgo done who is busy and needs access to their depos while on the go.

I practice in Washington D.C.'s Superior Court where Transcripts are only delivered in PDF format not Txt, as required for this app. I have tried to get the court reporters to send transcripts in txt format; however, the process has not produced results. Yesterday I repurchased the 4.1 version of trial pad which is much more productive than previous versions. The new trial pad allows you to at least edit and present transcripts in PDF format. Not as many features as transcript pad; however, it keeps a smile on my face for now. Hope PDF options will become available in future transcript pad!!

I absolutely love this App - easy to use and very powerful. I wish it had a few more tools like a place to make notes on the transcript, and more report options, but overall it is fantastic - I highly recommend. Lloyd Bell Bell Law Firm

Transcript Pad is my favorite deposition reading application. So why only 4 stars? It's all about the issue coding/annotating. 1. You can't generate a report that covers all discussions of an issue from multiple transcripts. 2.You can't generate a report limited to a particular issue. All you can do is generate a report on all issues from a single transcript. That substantially limits the utility of the software during the discovery phase of litigation when it's being used to prepare for other depositions or to collect evidence for motion practice. Otherwise, I love this application. But, please update it to make it more usable.

As a busy trial lawyer, this app is great because I only need to go through the transcript once, highlighting as I go, and all the pertinent testimony is at my fingertips whenever I need it l at a later date (without fumbling with indexes or post-it flags). I give this app 5 stars, though I would love if a future update would enable the app to take e-transcripts directly, rather than requiring me to convert e-trans files into txt files.

This entire software bundle is great but until the software offers an option to sync with a real time server-based office, it's not of use to me. I use ShareSync which updates in real time. Dropbox does not sync to a server. So every time my file changes I have to move it back to Dropbox and then wonder if I've lost anything. I own this and TrialPad and I won't purchase the updated versions unless this company adds a link to ShareSync,which is a great piece of software for paperless Attorney's and attorneys who want real time file access without having to carry a huge file with them everywhere they go.

I was in a deposition today and wanted to ask the doctor a bunch of questions about what my clients claimed he had told them. My client's depo had already been taken and I prepared by noting my client's statements in their depo in TranscriptPad. So easy referencing the page and line numbers and reading the quote - great for trial later because I can cut the transcript and put onto TrialPad and display to jury. Simple, easy, seamless and accurate - love it!

OK. I really love this app for transcripts. It's way better than I thought it would be! The color coding of issues is great - I just wish we could have more colors. But I also love the generated reports. It's a little clunky in spots, for example, importing transcripts from DropBox works well, it's just not that intuitive. It took me a couple of times to get the hang of it. It also doesn't remember the last directory so sometimes you have to keep going through multiple directories to get back to the transcripts in DropBox. I cured this by creating a TrialPad import directory ion the root of DropBox and then on my PC copying the transcript files I wanted to import to TrialPad there. I am sure with more users, this app will be improved. It's definitely worth $50, and I would encourage all attorneys to get this invaluable app. Oh yeah...I love the underlining + the highlighting in addition to color coding issues. Great job developers!

Great product with fantastic support. I e-mailed them with a question and got a call from a support person in 10 minutes who quickly answered all my questions.
