Great to finally see sensor data support, however it's missing pressure data for the iPhone 6/+ and no resolution update.

At least it works, and comes with figure which is cool. But please add screen fit for 6 and 6P.

Despite the obvious limitations, works well on the iPad. For one who must learn MATLAB, having it around at all times to practice commands and syntax is amazing.

Useless if it cannot create and edit script. Just a high-end calculator.

[update 01/06/16] yay! It's back up and running again on my iPhone 6. [first review] Worked most of this year - started crashing at startup around October. Tried reloading and just will not get around crashing. Was a nice app when working though, and graphs were good enough to show colleagues.

Instead of letting you solve problems the app guide you through a tour of registration and overpriced license, go for wolfram alpha instead

Needs to have an editor for more serious people.

nice option for the rare occasion one wishes to edit or mull over matlab scripts when limited to a mobile device. Matlab is an amazing product and is not free. Could point this out in the app store prior to downloading to avoid disappointing folks expecting something for nothing.

Good app in general, I love being able to interact with a session on my PC. But for the love of God please support image capture via the device camera! Why else would I want to run Matlab on iOS? This app is only 10% of its full potential without camera support.

2 main problems •It's pretty slow •does not support simple functions such as input() I was really excited to see there was a mobile version but those limitations are huge deal breakers.

When I'm without my computer and need to knock out some homework, it's a very useful app. It works under my student license with no issues. I do not know how this app would hold up under heavier usage as I only do light amounts of work.

Crashes on startup. It was very handy when it did work though. Please fix!!!

It is an excellent app. I love it to connect to my desktop Matlab version anywhere through a vpn tunneling but the keyboard layout is not updated for iPad pro, loosing one star in my rating. Please update it.

I encountered several issues that make this app a low rated app in my opinion. To start with I decided to use the mobile app while on vacation so I put some scripts on the cloud used by the app. Unfortunately I forgot a couple of scripts and spent about 30 minutes getting the files from my iCloud Drive sharing them to another app so I could copy the contents and then create a file within MATLAB that I could use. For several files this becomes a real pain. Not sure why they could not be stored locally within the app or why the app can’t access iCloud Drive. Perhaps this is a future feature. Second issue is that the app requires an internet connection to work at all. I assume the number crunching must be happening server side instead of on the iPad client side. This dramatically decreases the apps “mobility”. Try using it on an overseas flight. MATLAB has always been hyper protective when it comes to licensing and it is something that can be lived with from a computer. I really hope this is not the reason for this major drawback for a mobile app. Lastly every time I move around in a hotel the app loses its connection and I have to force it to re-connect. I am thinking this is because the WiFi router I am using changed in some fashion and my VPN must reconnect (all done without any action on my part). Why MATLAB mobile can’t re-connect as well is beyond me. Hope Mathsoft is working on these issues. This app has potential especially given the improved performance of iPads. Unfortunately this app is not worth the effort for me given the above restrictions.

This is a great app for students who have a class that is Matlab based (or anyone who is interested in Matlab) that want to learn basic code. Other than that is is pretty much a pointless app, that uses up one of your limited number of licenses.

Using this on iOS 12 on the 12.9” iPad is a joke. It constant crashes. It’s in a painful low resolution. Definitely expected more from Mathworks, couldn’t be more disappointed.

When I first installed the app, acquiring data from the sensors used to be free... Now it requires an upgrade. No body would build a system that contains an IOS device in it for movement feedback; no body would use the feature commercially. The only use is for small debugs and educational purposes Such a greedy move and a disappointment....

Editor is one of the most excited feature I wanna see in Matlab mobile, and it surely makes it the best marginal value of purchasing MatLAB. Thanks team, great work!

What's the deal Mathworks? This thing doesn't work at all. Also when will we see some AMD openCl toolboxes?? Cmon.....,

The app is described as a lightweight Matlab environment. It definitely is. It's essentially the command line tool from Matlab. While it's helpful on the go for quick calculations and graphs it's not optimized for platforms like the iPad Pro(lacks resolution and split screen support) and doesn't have the Matlab editor which would make it a great mobile application. I suspect it will take someone porting over octave to iOS in order for the Matlab team to make something great.

Love being able to do Matlab commands anytime on my phone. Great app!

The iPads hardware continues to match forward and Mathworks isn’t taking advantage of that. An app such as Pythonista gives a first class Python IDE taking advantage of local file providers (to use working copy for git). And it’s completely developed by one person. Super disappointing considering it basically hasn’t improved to even do basic file operations (import from other apps, let alone external file provider support). Given all of the made per matlab license I would think even a simplified version of full matlab would be possible. If you’re looking for a viewer for your files already in the mathworks cloud this is fine. For real development work especially using git version control, this is a joke. If you have a choice in the matter learn Python get Pythonista and leave mathworks proprietary stuff behind.

I'm starting to use and learn matlab but this matlab mobile doesn't support "input" on idevices I think it is impossible to go forward cause i think this is vital And this app just give you a good feeling at first but it isn't enough

I have a non-expiring license but can't associate my new iPad with my license because the maintenance period has expired! Make know sense at all!

The app is great except when using my Apple Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad the command line is hidden by the added number row. I do not need this number row when using a keyboard. Also, the up and down arrows on the keyboard do not cycle the command history as it does on a PC. I have suggested this to MathWorks before, but I don't think they took it as a development suggestion. I wonder if their developers are even testing with a Bluetooth keyboard.

For simple math computation, this app is easy to use (with the correct account). Although MATLAB won't support mobile created scripts, this app is great for mobile testing/bug fixing of codes.

After installing this, which is quite complicated, I realized that it is impossible to edit .m files in the app. Anyone who uses Matlab at anything but the very most basic level will at least write scripts. Without this ability, this app is essentially useless. My recommendation is to instead get a remote access app on the iPad, and then run Matlab remotely on a PC.

Can no longer connect to MATLAB cloud.

It's much easier to just work on the computer itself. Only works if phone is on the same network as the computer, so if that's the case why not just work from the computer? This app needs to be upgraded to support access from afar to be considered even remotely useful. Matlab itself (not mobile) is great though

Matlab is great which is fact. I have waited for years to see it on iOS. To be fully 5-star app it requires some additional work, better opportunities to customize workplace and of course mobile cross-app connection (fetch to Bloomberg for example). I hope this platform will be updated and we will see a lot of new features.

Works as expected. Learning Matlab for a summer course at USF. I’m able to access the built in sensors, connect to my laptop and to the MathWork clouds. Save and retrieve files as well. Now I can study on the go! 👩🏽‍🏫👩🏽‍💻

It's cool how you can use MatLab on your iDevice, but it requires a connection between the iDevice and the computer. Actively. Might as well just have the computer with you, unless you're running some scripts from away.

It's really cool that you can acquire sensor data, but the fact that you have to be connected to a computer running Matlab to save or use the data makes it much less useful. I don't understand why I can't use the Matlab Cloud to process the data (the online documentation says this is possible, but the in-app documentation says it's not supported). If this app allowed me to collect and process data on my phone, or even had a Simulink environment with sensor read blocks, I would give MathWorks all of my money.

I can not use it , and it is complicated !! If it take some money in the App Store and directly get work, I will pay it even its price 4$ :(

I am currently using Matlab Mobile, but it is not optimized for the new iPad Pro (2018) and there is substantial space loss around the edges because of this. I would like to kindly request MathWorks to optimize this for use with the new iPad Pros. Thanks much.

It isn't allowed to create a file, and run some complex program, like loop, for. If it could be fixed for the full function, would be fine.

This is supposed to be a mobile app, but you can't use a mobile device to upload a script to be executed! You have to upload a script from your macbook or pc first. Only then can the script be commanded to execute from your mobile device. Thanks for such an awkward and difficult to use tool MATLAB!! By the way, when will you finally get it together and allow arrays, and matrices, to be passed to a function by reference rather than by value? It's time to move out of the dark ages!!

These guys are so crooked it's fantastical to think the matlab license you PAID for would allow you to use the mobile flavor. Streamline the verification, let me enter an email/password and that's it. Focus on securing your primary platform and let's not kill ourselves over the mobile extension....mathworks=failure

Works well replicated MATLAB command line good enough just needs a better iPad Pro 12.9 optimization and iPhone X support!!
