It is a cute story and a cute book! We actually bought the book after we got the app. The illustrations in the book are the same ones used in the app. The sound effects everything makes are SO cute. My kids (5,8 & 11) all touch the pics in the book and make the sounds from the app!! The book came with a CD with the same voice as the app. BTW he's not scary. If your kid can't listen to the song "Monster Mash" because it's too scary than this isn't bad (it's the same guy) Not scary.

I've been in love with this story since it was published 5 years ago. It is fantastic to have it as an app. The illustrations are phenomenal and the message is so good and so important to teach kids. A Halloween story with depth, with teeth!

Very good story. We read it alot

I had this book in a paperback for several years before finding it on my iPad, and the narrator's voice just complements the book so well! As a mom a teacher I cannot praise the book enough! I don't think you'll be at all disappointed!

My daughter loves this book! Pictures are beautiful, the narration matches the tone of the book perfectly, wish there were more apps just as much fun as this one was for my daughter. We didnt care for the Dr Suess books too much, but this one is a definite hit in our home.

Fun narration and sound effects. The words lighting up as the narrator reads gives good cues and pacing.

Beautifully done app. Wonderful lesson for my kids that being different is a blessing.

This is a cool app. Very cute story with a good lesson about how it's ok to be different. My nephew loves watching spookily on Disney channel. He thinks it's funny.

I use this book to teach my Special Ed students about colors, shapes, idioms, social skills etc. It is very professionally done, and the children love it. I wish I could find an entire library of books like this for my students!

They really did a great job with this app! The voiceover is great, and my daughter loved touching different parts of the pages to hear different sound effects and dialogue. Beautifully done and well worth the price!

I am a huge fan of Spookley and have been recommending the book to friends for years. It is a beautifully-written story that conveys wonderful messages about tolerance, diversity, and self-respect. My grand children loves it. My grandson who is 1 year old can stay still and follow the story and loves being able to touch the screen and make the pumpkins talk cracks him up!

This adorable little story has made it's way into many homes. The spooky voice of the narrator gives it that special Halloween feel, but the story line is heart warming! This book has great meaning about being different and how even if you think you don't fit in, you have a purpose!!! Get it, you will love it!!!!

What a great app for Halloween! The story is also a great social story for children that feel that they are different and don't understand why they are treated that way.

This app is one of my daughter favorite story. There aren't many EXCELLENT app out there yet. This one is everything an interactive book should be. It is very obvious that professional artists are behind this marvelous creation. Highly recommended!

The kids in my family love this app (7, 6 and 4).

I use this book with my class every year. We talk about times when they feel like "square pumpkins." My kids read the book to younger kids in our school. It's sweet, fun and has a great lesson. So worth the money. I can't wait to show the app to my kids; well done!

My 4 and 6 year olds ask me for this everyday in October. They have most of it memorized. Great 10-minute literary babysitter!

"The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin" is an adorable story that is great as a year-round story. I thought it was going to be a scary kids story, but it is actually a story similar to the "Ugly Ducking." It is about a pumpkin that is square and wants to fit in, but in the end he saves the day and all the pumpkins are now grown square. The App is colorful, bright, and adorably illustrated. The story is also pretty neat you can tap on the screen for sounds and to hear the story words again.

What a wonderful app with a great story for teaching children it's OK to be different. Just an adorable presentation.

I wasn't sure about spending money on a book app but this is wonderful. So interactive! I can't wait to use it in the classroom!!
