Tapas Comics And Novels App Reviews

Well I just started and I wanted to get some points right so I download an app that it tells me to and I don’t get my points. Close the app and everything. Kinda really want my 5000 points man.

Tapas has been one of my favorite apps for a long time and the comics are wonderful but since the new update I can’t get any comics to load. I haven’t been able to read a comic on this app since the update and it’s very frustrating.

It's good and has a good verities of things to read but I don't like the fact you have to unlock some episodes but I understand

Hate the new update I want the grid format back in the library, where I could see all the comics, and they are not separated into sections. Really s***** and bad design and annoying. Not convenient whatsoever. Books and comics are separated in sections, and sometimes I can't even find some of them.

you’ll begin reading a webcomic you think is free, but there are no ads on the app, so you wonder if it’s all patron based. then you get a couple chapters in, you’re still not sure if you love it, not much of the plot has happened yet, just character intros and suddenly it wants you to pay to read the rest of the series. it says you can watch ads to get free coins but the ads are all 30seconds long and you only get 10 coins from it while most chapters are worth over 300 coins and whole series are over 20,000. you could just buy coins but THEY ARE EXPENSIVE! $20 for a webcomic I’m only mildly interested in? no thank you. I’ll spend my money on things I know i like. But now i’m afraid to use the app because, I don’t know if every webcomic I read and begin to like will eventually charge me and force me to commit or quit. I understand the need to pay the artists, I support my favorite creators on patreon when I can and I don’t use ad blocker. But I felt tricked, like it wasn’t advertised as being pay to read and now I’ve deleted the whole app because I’m too poor to support all of its artists on a whim. If you can afford to buy things just to see if you like it or not, please enjoy this app.

I wish there would be more option to just read all chapter instead of unlocking each of them because coin takes time to get.

Was enjoying it, before it’s stopped working. I do not to uninstall it and reinstall it in order for it to work again.

Omg the books are amazing I feel like I’m in every story

I love tapas, I use it all the time. It has great quality and I love just messing around on it. The only reason I down my ratings(and so dramatically) is because of the recent update with the ordering of the bookmarked comics. I always update a little late, but after the update I just flipped. The Novels/comics used to be in little squares with a dark background, now they are bright and one by one order. I know it just kinda freakin out over nothing, but I would just like the option to order the comics like they did before. Sorry for the rant, and for not having a good reason for the one star, but I guess I’ll get over it soon and come back. I just liked how it was before, it was a lot easier.

Not all episodes are free and don’t people support them if they want to(I mean like when you are reading something and you see this annoying YOU NEED COINS! Sign ,shouldn’t people support them if they want?)

Can’t watch videos for coins anymore for some reason

so i get that tapas needs to make money and they can’t necessarily be “entirely free” but the coin/unlock system is a flaming pile of bs. they could’ve done what webtoon (a truly free and much better comic app) did and have ads on the end of comics or had little ads on the side and bottom of the page. there are so many better ways to make money than making users buy/play c***** games to unlock episodes. the only reason i’m still using this app is because of the stories, but it’s better just not to get it. you’re not missing out on much, go get line webtoon which is a much better and much freer app.

Beyond annoying and crashes all the time

I have been using Tapas to read comics for awhile. I liked it because it had many different genres, and you didn’t have to pay to get good comics. I also enjoy the exclusive comics that don’t cost a lot to read. I do have one complaint though. When tapas made a recent update, I can’t seem to find the comics that are free. When you look in the genre section, it shows me all the exclusive comics. This may be just a problem with me not being able to work it properly, but the format of the app before was a little more simple and easier to use. Other than that, 10/10 app. Love it.!

This recent update (or maybe it happened a little while ago, I’m not sure, I haven’t trolled for new comics in a while) when all comics seem to have moved to a “free for a few episodes, and then 200-300 coins for the rest of them” model. Where have all the truly free to read comics gone? There’s no indication on ANY of the comics that show they are partly pay-to-read. You don’t find out until you’re 7, 8, 9, even 10+ episodes in and hit a pay wall. I know there are plenty out there like myself who can’t afford to buy coins or spend hours watching lengthy ads for a measly 10 coins, and it takes much too long to save up that pittance to unlock even a single episode of a single comic. I understand that creators should be paid. And I agree with this. But I feel like Tapas has moved from tipping to forcing people to pay for the comics they want to read, and they’re going to lose a huge part of their reader base to Webtoon since it’s free. It just makes me sad that I can no longer browse on here and find tons of great free comics to read.

I enjoy the variety that tapas provides however the new update has caused me some frustration, I understand that they need to display their sponsored comics however it’s overly difficult to find comic that you can read if you are unable to read the featured ones. Even then it takes even longer to find comics you already haven’t seen. While at first this didn’t bother me so much I’ve become increasingly frustrated because, while not always, sometimes when I leave a comic I was quickly looking at from the genre category in the community comics, I go all the way back to the sponsored ones. I also have issue with the discover tab, while I really like the idea in theory the first thing you see when you open it is a featured comic suggested not at all based on your tastes. Even when you scroll down to the community comics, you only see comics recently updated. Rather than this I would display comics with a good amount of hearts(?) for the amount of subscribers(?) that doesn’t already have a huge fan base. Preferably these comics would also be updates rather recently as well. However this is most likely hard to implement so if now this then simply display comics that the user has not read in the genres the user prefers to avoid someone who doesn’t enjoy romance comics getting suggested “chief seduction officer”. Even easier just turn it into the community comics/novels tab

So, as I have seen others say, I thought this was going to be like Wattpad but with comics. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I was enjoying reading comics until the time I wanted to upload my own comic. I was continuously told to ‘confirm’ my account. At first I thought it was no big deal. After numerous tries the resend button simply made my device crash. The one time it actually was ‘successful’, I received no email. The synopsis, it’s ok for people hoping to just read comics but not for those wanting to put themselves out there.

This app has amazing artwork and artists but I can’t even finish one series without having to pay for it or wait. If you don’t mind paying or waiting this app would be ok for you, but for those who don’t I’d recommend WEBTOON.

The new format for looking at your bookmarks makes everything extremely confusing, is there a way to customize the way you want to see your bookmarks?? I'm sorry but the vertical viewing of it now messes with my head and I can't find anything. The old format was better

Girl it looks pretty but. I’d rather see the images (that are too small to see now) that represent a comic rather than words and white lines everywhere. Fix my library. Please this new format makes me uncomfortable.

This app is a great way to support artists at a relatively affordable price which I’m grateful for (other apps like LezhinComics charge $30 for just one series). I wish there were more ways to get coins other than watching ads and referring friends. I know some other apps have more intricate ad rewards (like if you download x app and reach a certain level you get, say, 800 coins to buy comics with etc) and I’m hoping one day they might do that for us one day :) The comics I’ve read are high quality and they have a wide variety to choose from, and actually there’s a LOT of free ones, or ones that have the first few episodes for free so you can decide whether you want to jump into purchasing it or not. Anyways, the app works great functionally BUT I had one huge problem... The app keeps crashing :( Sometimes I’ll have the app opened for five minutes or less and it will crash, sometimes it won’t crash for 30 minutes straight but inevitably every time I have used the app it has crashed ;_; if not for that I would’ve given more stars but unfortunately it’s really damaging my enjoyment of the app because of its frequency....Hopefully this is something that can be fixed so I can change my review sooner rather than later and more people can properly enjoy everything tapas has to offer!!

I like the comics and I understand I can’t expect things to be free in life. Comics are hard to make but watching ads to get free coins will get you nowhere unless you have a lot of patience. I don’t know if this happens to others but sometimes when I watch the ads the app crashes after and it’s really annoying. Of course your can buy coins but it’s really not worth it when I could always look elsewhere for my comics(where it’s free). It’s a good app but for people that don’t plan to spend money on apps, it’s a waste of time. They are other alternatives. I suggest going on Webtoon, mangabird(for manga), WebComics, or simply go online. They are lots of websites that have free comics/manga.

These comics are just amazing and I love how the app doesn’t take too long to load! Not to mention it gives me inspiration as an artist such as myself. It’s also great for anytime you’re bored or not doing anything important.

Overpriced methods. It’s very expensive to read one series, up to $40 which is more expensive then buying a whole comic/book series in paper. I think that a subscription service would be amazing for this app. $15 a month to read unlimited? I feel like a lot more customers would use that, of course you would keep the episode purchases as well, but being able to read select novels by a subscribtion like amazon prime allows would be amazing.

Best app ever

I’m enjoying this app. With all the different types of comics available to read, it’s has something for everyone. So I say to keep ‘me coming. HOWEVER, the app tends to bring up a blank page, then shuts off after 30 seconds. Let me explain: Whenever I’m done reading a comic for the night, I’ll shut off the app. The next day, when I open the app and go back to the comic I was reading, it brings up a blank page, then freezes up. I can’t go back or do anything with the app. About 30 seconds later, the app will shut down and I’ll have to reopen the app. But again, it’ll do the same thing and I can’t read the comics. The only way to “fix” the problem is to erase the app from my phone and upload it again. That way I can sign in and go back to the comics I was enjoying. BUT I’ve had to do this three times already. It’s not the end of the world, but it can be annoying. So the app needs to be fixed. Hopefully sooner rather then later.

Yes, there’s some new mechanics that the new update had brought to us, like the library. I don’t dislike the new way you find comics, but I also don’t entirely love it either. You can find your comics more easily, they’re put into different area base on what you, the read, has marked them under. For example, an episode you liked would just go into to liked category, the ones with just updates will go to their special category, and so on and so on. I enjoy that because you can, once again, find thinks you most wish to pick. The only thing I dislike like is how thy changed the comic listing. When I opened up the comic tab to view all of the comics I’ve saved, I was expecting the comics to be in a 3 comic row (I’m on a phone). But once I had opened it up the comics were in ones straight line, and for people like me that have saved many comics, it’s just hard looking for the one you want to read. Personally I don’t need why that update was required other than fixing some minor bugs

Don’t get me wrong, I love tapas. But the new update just seem a little too much. I understand if the creators need to fix bugs, but it was very easy and fast to find things in my library before. It would be a better app if it the way it used to be.

I really love this app for reading comics. I love seeing the creators ideas! I just wish I could upload my own, and if there is a way I just can’t figure it out.

I loved using this app and WEBTOONS but now all the WEBTOON or comics you need to pay to read and it’s not enjoyable anymore I won’t be going back to this app....

The recent update isn’t working. When I open a story to read the screen freezes blank and I have to exit out of the app. I love this app. It’s easy to use and brings so many creators a friendly environment to share their work. I really like the tip system. It’s also really easy to post your work. It only took me a few minutes to understand the process. I hit 1k views in just a week. The reach this app has is incredible!

I like the comics that are on tapas, but sometimes, when I try to earn coins from watching ads, a black screen pops up where the ad is supposed to be playing and nothing happens. After this happens, I have to close the app entirely and try again.

As I browsed through the comics, the app has crashed around 7 times. I’ve literally only used the app for about an hour and a half, excluding the hour or so that i was just on one comic. While browsing, this app is quick to crash, but when on an actual comic, it runs better

I love Tapas, it’s one of my favorite apps to read. The variety of genres they have is excellent. I like how they don’t just have comics but also include stories and novels. A really popular comic I’m reading right now is “Demons Can’t Be Pretty”. Fantastic set up on the comic. I didn’t really favor when I completed a special offer and didn’t receive the coins but all was resolved soon. One thing that irks me with the new update (4.1.0) is the set up for the library. I don’t particularly like how they have your added stories stacked instead of the grid look. I hope they change it back to the grid look but one can only tell. Overall in my opinion I believe Tapas is a terrific app and I recommend it to other people.

I am in LOVE with the new library system! It’s way easier to read updated stories and much cleaner looking ;) But is there any way you could separate the premium comics from the discover? Thanks a lot!

The new update is rather messy than organized. I like it how it was before with your bookmarked books organized in tables.

I’ve just seen the new tapas update and I feel overwhelmed. My library organization is awful and I already miss the old one.

I like the idea of watching ads in order to support the company and its creators. I personally love supporting my creators and the stories here are great. However, the amount of ads that one has to watch in order to read one short comic is RIDICULOUS!!! Watching an ad will only give you a few coins and an episode is 300 coins??? Tapas needs to rethink their business strategies because they are losing customers. I’m definitely out. Webtoons is far superior!

The app is pretty amazing. Even though you gotta pay certain comics with coins I still think this app for comics is awesome. However after using it for a while the inbox stopped recommending me comics to read as well the about info of an upcoming episode that will be free or certain amount of coins that will be given. I’m not to sure if this is a bug or not but I look forward seeing what Tapas is going to recommend me everyday through the inbox. I hope this is a bug that can be fixed.

Every time I send a message for free coins it never works

Sinds I was a little kid I loved reading, but there where no apps for it back than. now that im older i found a link to here and i love it!! I have the app on my phone and ipad! Highly recommend this app for readers

The problem with this app is that u need 300 coins just to read one episode and they mostly tend to be really short and I don’t really like spending my money just for a couple of coins that will wither away but I the way to get free coins is to watch a ad only to get 10+ coins in return for 4 ads and that means u need to watch 20+ more ads just to get 300 coins to read one really short chapter of a story I really hope TAPAS lowers the amount of coins u need to read a chapter like something 50? Coins for each chapter

The stories are great, but you have to buy them with coins. The amount one episode cost is insain! In order to read something, you would have to watch about 20-30 adds. Might I add, that’s only for one episode. Or you have to pay money, which is not a very good option. A great alternative would be to watch an add to unlock an episode, if they did that, it would be a 5 star app.

I really like tapas, but for a beginner it’s hard to get coins. So chapters costs around 100-300 I feel like that’s too much. Beginners (some) don’t want to waste money. Comics are like books and you only pay once to read it, Tapas you need to pay for each chapter or 5 chapters. That’s the only reason I don’t like tapas.

It’s getting a bit ridiculous. I can’t afford to pay for coins to read comics. So I watch the ads for free coins. I used to be able to get 20 coins per ad, but now it’s 13. Do you have any idea how many ads I have to watch just to read one episode? A LOT! One episode usually costs 225 coins a piece!!! It’s liking being constantly bankrupt! I get that the authors need to get payed for their work, but there’s gotta be another way to do so. Cause at this rate you’re gonna tick off a lot a broke people real soon.

It's a really great app and it has some great stories on it but the downloads don't work like when I try to read the stuff I download the story doesn't load properly and keeps repeating the same images over and over again and that's annoying but other than that it's just a really great place for new artists.

I have been using this app for a couple years now, seeing its transition from Tapastic to Tapas. And as much as i enjoy reading everyone’s comics, i feel like individual creators who make comics, are slowly being more and more taken away from the spotlight. When opening the app, the only comics you see are exclusives, comics that associated with the Tapas company itself. Don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with these artists and creators that have exclusive comics, if i find a good one i truly try to support them, but there’s a lack of any individual creator to get their chance in popularity. Checking a couple days ago, i had to dig deep to find comics created by individuals, going into layers of categories. it’s getting to the point where if you want to get any sort of attention, tapas isn’t the right place to upload a comic. I just wish these creators got the chance to show their comics and creations more.

It’s a great app with amazing stories but it’s really hard to get coins to open locked episode especially when you only get around 10 coins for each ad and the episodes are like 200 coins

You’re just forcing your readers to watch too many adds in exchange of a small amount of coins. I know you want to make money out of your business but it is absurd, other apps like Webtoons can be more successful by letting readers read the comics but also using adds in a different way. Tapas wastes a lot of my time by making me watch so many videos, I would rather use Webtoons, there is no need to watch any adds and you don’t have to pay for anything.

I have been waiting for a while now for stuff to load but nothing is showing up. All I see is a bunch of blank covers, and the comics don’t load. Iv tried reloading everything a bunch of times but nothing is working.

I really don’t like the new update. It makes it very difficult to find comics by genre because only a few comics show up and they are all ones you have to pay for. It also seems to have completely disregarded all free to read comics and it is incredible difficult to find new ones to read outside of the ones in my library. If I can find the comics I like to read on a different platform I’ll delete the app.

After I watch videos, the app crashes or it won’t give me my reward. Please fix, this is really annoying

This app is one of the best reading apps I have gotten in my entire life!! In real books, I can’t really find any book to my taste but in tapas I find all the comics that are really interesting to me!!! I hope you other tapas users are enjoying them as much as me!!!!

Downloaded this app and deleted it right away.. you either watch videos to earn coins so you can read comics which can be found online for free or you buy them...this is a rip off..if I could I’d give it a negative 5 star.

I think that this is a very well built reading app.i use this when im stressed and I just want sometime to read but I have nothing to read. One thing bob would think that people might not like this app for is that on some stories you need coins which you can get for free or pay for, to read more in it.

Since I don’t really like to spend any money on apps, I usually watch ads to get free coins. But the thing is I feel like you barely earn anything by watching them on this app. You can watch up to 4 ads for just one click to watch the ad. But, the most you can make by watching ads is 17 coins (if you watch 4 in one click) but sometimes it’s just 10 coins. It takes 250 coins to read only one episode. Which means you have to watch about 20ish ads just to read one episode. Also, the episodes tend to be really short but I feel like the artist can’t really help it. The comics are very good and interesting but I feel like people like me (who can’t spend money on apps) have a less of a better time on the app. Some episodes are free but not all of them. It took me 2 days to read one episode because sometimes the app doesn’t even let you watch any plus I get really bored of it so I stop. So in my opinion I like Webtoon more since it’s free and, like Tapas, the comics are amazing. But Tapas is still a good app.

I hate the new format. I try to search by genre but every section is so empty. Instead of showing you all the options it’s showing you barely any and almost none of them are free. I don’t know how I’m supposed to discover things if I can’t find anything.

In my opinion we shouldn’t be paying for coins because some of us are actually broke af! We should be supporting our favorite writers buy reading their stuff not by spending our money until we’re broke just so they know we support them! I’m literally about to delete this app because I’m broke and I really like the webcomics I’m reading too! I seriously hate webcomic apps that make us pay in order to show our love to the creators! It makes me feel like they only care about the money and not the actual people who support the app!

I love this app it’s fun and amazing!! But I bought coins yesterday and I did everything the help thing said. But the purchase didn’t show up on the app purchases, I don’t know what to do. If I repurchase it again or I just leave it? But other than that, I LOVE THE GAME!

Don’t get me wrong, I think the Tapas app runs really well, especially on my kind of old phone. It’s very easy for me to find and read all the comics in my library and there are a lot of great comics to enjoy. All the comics I have in my library are spectacular. Honestly I don’t really feel as if Tapas is the place for books as it’s been a comic site for so long but you do you. The main issue is that it seems to be getting harder to get to the regular creator-made comics rather than the “Tapas Exclusive” pay-to-read ones. You were really doing well with the new tab you had that featured comics and then you’ve replaced that with another page for your pay to read comics and books. I love your app and the comics on it, but please try to stay true to your original base and focus at least a little more on your everyday creators rather than your sponsored ones. Besides this, your app runs really well. I rarely have issues with it and everything works smoothly. I can appreciate the work all the developers have put into it and the coin system works well. Nice job.

You know I love tapas I really do, but one of the main reasons why I always looked forward to the daily snack was because of the quotes y’all provided. But since the update, it stopped. And why movie the daily snack to the discovery tab? It doesn’t make sense. I love the update but please move the daily snack back to the inbox.

I really love the app and how it’s been able to show me creators and their comics from all over the world but The app keeps crashing. I don’t know if this is just me but if I use the app for too long (around 20 minutes) it crashes, I’ve stopped using the app as much because it’s just gotten annoying at this point. That’s not the only thing either, more than once the app has logged me out of my account for no reason. I hope you guys can find a way to fix these issues so I can enjoy reading the comics again because a while ago these kinds of issues never happened.

If you want any comic app, get this one!! It’s stacked full of interesting material to bring forth that mysterious, nerdy, geeky, fantasy thrived, murderous soul in everyone!!!! It’s an amazing app and I’m addicted!

While some of you may not like that some of the comics you have to pay for what I enjoy most from this app is that you CAN support your favorite comics WITHOUT having to put in a credit card (this is really nice especially when your young and are too broke to pay) You can watch ads and support those authors who have made you laugh and cry and if you can’t watch the ads (it takes a long time and lots of patience T.T) you can buy some and give it to them it I hope that if your a fan of comics or novels you will try this app out because it’s the best^^

I love tapas so much. I splurge on coins whenever I can (aka whenever my parents give me iTunes gift cards - yes I’m another broke teenager so obviously I find some of the stuff pretty expensive but who cares? It just feels so rewarding to read something quality from paying instead of something rushed and half heartedly done for free, much like some of the content I read on LINE Webtoon and and Wattpad). I also appreciate the ease in which I can support creators. Over the course of the time I’ve been here I’ve watched several favorite novels, novels I’d spent hours binging, get turned into comics. The comics are so good and as someone who loves anime, manga and reading comic books, it’s great. I love that although there is a featured section where paid premium content is displayed (you have to pay coins for every episode) there is still a wide variety of “discover” content available to enjoy for free in the meantime. There are tons of small artists and authors on there who publish stuff and it’s great. I don’t spend nearly as much time as I did on Wattpad and LINE Webtoon before I discovered this app, so that says a lot because I used to spend hours at a time binging books and waiting for new comics to release. So if you are a reader or comic lover and are just looking for something to entertain yourself with over the summer, Tapas is just the thing!! The quality novels and comics are amazing and the plots are unique and in depth, although some things can be kind of cliche but most of the time there’s a twist. I only have one suggestion, and that is to make a way to publish comics and stories on the app and make it easier to get to creating a premium series on here. As someone who has a passion for writing and someday wants to get paid for it, I suggest making it more visible on the app how you can get discovered and turned into a premium creator as well as publish stuff. I’ve seen that they’ve occasionally had contests but those aren’t advertised very well. I have so many stories I want to share on this app and would appreciate it a lot if you would try adding in a way to post episodes and upload things on here from the app. Also, I dislike how the comics load every panel and there’s some sort of bug with bookmarking - it refreshes every time I open the page for the episode I was on and I loose my exact place, which makes me have to finish a chapter before I continue and take a break. (This is only for novels, but it didn’t used to do this, so I think it’s just a bug with the new update and I would really appreciate it if you fixed this). However, those are only small issues, and otherwise I love this app! You’ve really created something good here, Tapas, and it made me remember why I love discovering new content driven communities so much. Five stars for being amazing.

I really enjoyed the stories, but the whole deal with the coins is just meh. We need to spend 200 coins per story to read and some people can’t buy or can’t keep spreading the word to receive them.

I went to creat an account, misspelt my email, and I tried to go back to fix it. I logged out of the account because it said that my email was already in use after the second time I fixed it. I tried to enter in the password to the correct email, but it didn’t register. I went to reset my password, but I didn’t get a single password reset in my mail. The app broke multiple times when I tried to leave the profile edit page. Also the added fact that instead of making all of the comics free, you make people pay for currency or watch videos, instead of putting in advertisements in the comics. I hate websites that do that with the apps but not with the website itself.

I consider the app great, however it’s sad how expensive it is to unlock just one episode a couple, I recommend try adding more surveys to complete for ultimate coins instead of buying for actual money that comes from your bank or watching ads and only receiving up to only 10,17,18 coins for long stepped ads. That would be amazing for other users and this app. So please add this if your planning to have a update to the app. Thank you. Sincerely, Storm

I love this app and I don’t mind watching adds over a period of time but recently I keep getting adds that don’t play and don’t let me close out of them so I have to restart the app. Plus that add is the only one coming up so I can’t get any’ coins.

I love Tapas and all it’s content. I have love it for years, but I just downloaded the new update, and I’m a little mad. First of all, before the update when you shared with friends you’d get 200 coins for sharing it with them, now you get none. Also, the for the chapters of story’s that you have to unlock, they don’t have the unlock button anymore. I know I might be being too critical, especially for these reasons only, but I’m just a little mad after I love it so much before the update. I realize that some people probably love the update, and that I’m not seeing all the new benefits, but I’m also seeing a lot of losses from the last update. I like simple, don’t like change. So, maybe I’m being a little biased. Nonetheless I will still continue to use the app, but I will be a little mad. Sorry.

I enjoy reading comics, but lately the app has been crashing on my every five pages or so. :(

I love tapas! I do think they could improve though. It costs 105 to unlock new episodes on most comics or novels. Videos only give you a little amount of coins. They could raise the reward Even if only a bit. Also, I invited a friend and she joined and uses tapas now. I never got my reward though I went by the guidelines and used the code and link.

The app does what it needs to and there are plenty of good comics to look at

I honestly just think Webtoon is better, you don't have to pay anything - but artist are still featured and make money , so you are still helping them out. This coin system just throws it all off 🤷🏽‍♀️

I really enjoy this app and all the comics it has to offer but I think the coins are dumb I get that it’s to support the app and the artists but is super annoying to have to watch 25 ads just to read 1 comic but besides that a really good and I would recommend it

I actaully highly enjoy this app/website to anybody. Yet the reply/comment system isn’t the best. Either way this app has many great stories and comics which make up for it. If you have a laptop I suggest to try and write a story, BUT before you do look at their standerds. Enjoy this app because it has been made by many people who carr for the enjoyment of others.

There’s so many stories with so many different genres to choose from. I really like this app because a lot of regular artists can set motion to comic ideas they’ve had without much hassle and out to a wide audience. Also, I like how this app has such a huge collection of comics and stories to choose from; I love web comics and I’ve always found it hard to find western web comics all in one place without having to physically go to the website the comic is on, nothing wrong with Manhwas or Mangas but I’ve been reading those for years, western comics deserve attention too. By far, this has to be my favorite web comic service/app ever. Oh! I also want to add that while also containing a multitude of western comics, there are also plenty of Asian comics on there as well. Like I said, this app is really great.

It’s alright

Okay so i’ve recently downloaded this app and LOVE it. There is one problem though.... the coins. It takes forever for me to save up enough coins to unlock a chapter in my comic which costs 300!!! It takes a long time to get enough coins just for one single comic chapter. I have to watch a bunch of ads, and recently I did a big coin earner to end up getting no coins from it and it just going away over time. I had finished the tutorial for the game like it asked and never received the coins.

There’s a new app call WEBTOON. Get that and support your fave artist through patron. This coin system is ridiculous and too much work just to read a comic. Honestly, I saw a story on there with 96 chapters and in order for me to read all chapters I have to save up 12,700 coins! Ridiculous.. I will not pay for coins nor will I watch ads continuously just to get 12 coins each. Webtoons thus far has been good to me. Bye Tapas ...

This site was great and all, and I can most definitely say there are comics I could totally binge read over and over again. But the huge problem is that I can no longer log in. I tried to reset my password, but then it would say “we were unable to find anything”... that makes no sense! Please, I hope you can fix this problem at some point because I love this app and wish to continue supporting the authors.

I was doing fine until today were I went on the app and it logged me off and won’t let me log in it says “something has gone wrong contact us” I don’t know what’s going on but I’m very disappointed that this is happening.

I love how there are so many books and just love it my favorite is genji cat.

This is my go to app for viewing and supporting my favorite author. To tell the truth I’m currently flat broke, so giving back to my favorite authors before finding this app was impossible for me. But with the brilliantly designed tip feature I can donate to them with just a few minutes spent on ads. So far the rewards I’ve received have varied from 10-20 coins depending on the advertiser that the ad is from. About the one and only issue I haven’t found a way to resolve is opting out of a specific ad if I do not wish to rewatch it due to distaste or dislike of the content, like this one dress up ad who’s art style was extremely off-putting to me. But other than that I love it!

It's hard because you have to either take a lot of time watching ads for coins. Or if money isn't a problem then you could buy coins

This app is amazing because you can support artists really easily without needing money! But there are so many comics that are premium and if you wanted to unlock just ONE chapter it would take hours and hours, it’s such a pain.

I love the stories that they offer and how they frequently recommend new ones. It get annoying having to either A) watch ads or B) pay, but at least they're worth it

It's amazing, smooth, and has lovely and original content. That said, I think that it could REALLY use a more clean tag system, and give users the option to search & filter through tags ... Because it gets old trying to search for certain things by 1.name or 2.genre there are certain things that are more specific than that to me ... Two other nice but not as urgent ideas are Subscription to certain tags or filter combinations -- this would work really well if Tapas set a standard group of tags! And it would be nice to be able to subscribe to users/teams, as some people put out consistently good content.

I have really enjoyed this app for its ease of use and ability to tip my favorite artists and their works. Mondo Mango and Sharp Zero are the best! My only issue is that I want to get more coins!

it’s a very nice place to find your favorite comics and meet new friends! most people are very supportive! ^-^ you don’t even need to pay money to tip your favorite creators! you can just watch adds or invite friends!

I like tapas a lot! I like being able to explore the different worlds through the webcomics. The only thing I don’t like lithe newest update. I am not able to see the top comments without having to press on the individual comments. Another thing is when I turn on infinite scrolling, it is very glitchy. And the only way to get rid of these glitches, is to exit he app. But beside those two things, I love the app!!

This is a fine app, but as a comic creator that has started working on iPad, it’s so frustrating to have to export my file, put it on my drive and then log in to my computer to upload. Please allow creators to upload directly on the app soon!

There’s some great stories but they stop because you need to pay.... And they need a lot of ink so you need to watch a lot of adds or pay to finish your series.But there are very good comics that you can read for free!

I have been having a problem and it wasn’t like this until just now. It’s bugging out so that when I go to the next chapter of a comic I’m reading, and I’m already halfway through reading it, it glitches and goes back to the chapter before that, that I already read. I lose my spot in the chapter I was reading after that chapter it glitched to and I have to exit off, go back to the list of chapters, manually go back to the chapter I was just reading, and find my spot again. It did this a bunch of times already for one comic I am currently reading and it’s annoying. Not only that but for the first time, since I have had this app, it crashed on me just right now. Please fix this and I’ll fix my rating. It’s seriously irritating.

The good: - It displays comics well - You can pinch to zoom (really important feature for some comics) - It’s light on data transfer for mobile use - You can pre-download comics if you’re going to be on a plane or something - Coin buying and use for non-free comics is very smooth - Ads are unobtrusive The bad/annoying - They recently rather randomly changed it so that comics always show the first rather than most recent episode at the top AND there is no way to change the default, so if it’s a comic you read regularly you have to tap the re-sort button EVERY TIME - The notifications system doesn’t like it when you change your iOS notification settings from the default. I for example disable audible alerts but use banners and lock screen alerts, but the settings keeps complaining that I have notifications disabled (this is an improvement; for s while it wouldn’t even let you enable notifications if you had something custom) - They have a tendency to break stuff for no reason; both of the above worked fine in earlier versions and were arbitrarily broken in minor updates - I have had the app repeatably hard freeze and crash on animated panels in some comics, to the point I could not read that comic in the app - it keeps bugging me with popovers about paid comics and promos I have no interest in, and this cannot be disabled If it weren’t for the arbitrary bad changes and bugs it would be a great app.

You have to watch adds, play demos and take surveys if you want episodes to be free. Or just pay

I love the comics and everything, just ink is a huge pain to obtain, 10 ink a video is like nothing when a single episode of what you want to read is 375 ink, and then you finally get to it and the episode takes 5 seconds to read because it’s 2 panels. Or I’ll do a survey, spend twenty minutes on it, and then it’ll tell me I’m not elegible and they wont be giving me the ink.

I very much love this app and I think people should download it but my iPhone has if lately been crashing more and more often mostly if I use it for a long amount of time which makes it very unfortunate and makes me want to use the app more then I could I don't know if I'll continue using it until that glitch is fixed from the other reviews I see I'm not the only one with this problem I hope it's fixed.

The new update is kinda weird tbh. To browse through comics, it scrolls vertically instead of just putting the comics out in rows. It feels a bit restricted and such instead of showing all the comics like a bookshelf or something. I liked the older version better. Other than that good job!

Tapas has really great comics and novels and I’m always excited for another episode to come out of the comics that I read.

The way the app works is very straight forward. When you first start you get 200 free coins and if you have an add code, like Rits305i you get 200 more. There’s adds and also a one time playing of a game to get 2,000 coins. I do wish that ads would give more coins, they give 10+ coins and it’s great if you’re willing to do it. Coins can also be bought. Other than having to play to read more than 3chapters of the comics this app is amazing. It has really great comics to read from.

This was a great app to find comics on to read. Like a year ago. Now though with the tapas premium (which came with an update about a year or so ago) it’s really hard to find a comic that you don’t have to pay for. Really a drag, it used to be my go to app.

I really like the new update. I’m really excited to read the manga on it. I find it easy to find things that I like. I like how it looks more usable and HD.

I love this app I wold like to eventually do some work here too but from the story’s I seen so far I like the fact that it’s full of so many different things and worlds to explore I would definitely recommend it if you like comics

There are so many different webtoons or novels that you can enjoy. Tapas allows you to have quality content that’s affordable since the provide countless options such as playing games to earn coins, waiting to read an episode, or even reading some for free. I’m glad that i downloaded this app and if y’all decide to get it too pls use my code I8CA650R because i really wanna read some new stories!

Look, I’ll be frank. I really wanted this app because there were some comics I couldn’t read anywhere else. And that’s great. You guys have a pretty decent selection. But the ink is just too much. I shouldn’t have to watch 30 ads just to read one chapter of a story. I think you guys could fix this by possibly making a check-in area where people get inks for signing in everyday or perhaps lowering the ink cost for one chapter. I understand that the creators get $ in turn for the inks, but with the way it is now it’s hard to read at all when you’re short on cash.

If you are going to make people have to buy the books to read then at least make like a daily thing to where you get like 1,000 ink and then you get all the other things still too.ONE story is like 500/600 ink....and you get to read only five or so story’s then no more.Or just make it completely free to read them....? I don’t understand why you have to get ink to unlock it tbh story’s and this app would probably do better if you didn’t have to but the story episodes:/

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it usually notifies me about comic updates a 5+ hours late. Other than that, not much wrong.

I use the app a lot and generally enjoy it. I think the only thing is that you can’t search by completed series and sometimes the app gets a little slow if reading too much. But most of the updates help with that! Overall I think it’s a great platform.

I was enjoying reading the comics, but then there was the ink support part. This makes it extremely difficult to enjoy this app. Most people are on these apps to get enjoyment out of reading these comics, not to pay some s***** fine to read it. The authors shouldn’t be relying on an app to make their income, they should get a real job. I highly do not recommend.

For some reason my music playlist stops when I open the app on iOS 12.1.3. I like to listen to music when I read. And I can’t be the only one. I looked in thw options and the app doesn’t use background music or at least I didn’t hear any.

Big fan of this app but recently all my stories are not showing up under bookmarked or any of the other categories in my library so now I have lost all the stories I had bookmarked.

it’s a great app, great comics, good to read on the go. i adore it. i recently did two offers, and waited two weeks for the ink to come in. it didn’t come in, so i emailed them and in just 24 hours they did it. very cooperative, great people. good service. great comics, artists are phenomenal, all around perfect. i love this app. it is good. good.

Literally 80% of the comics on here are pay to read. Not great, unless you’re made of money ❤️ I enjoy the comics that are completely free though, which are usually the ones with the most views too 💕✌🏼

Really good manhwa but not worth getting this app Dont get the app unless your willing to spend alot of money its they use points which they call ink to unlock short chapters it takes 250inks to unlock just one you send (50$ USD) for 40,000inks which only get you 160 “SHORT” chapters smh your better off with (webcomics or tappytoon)

I turned off the Daily Snack and Personalized Recommendation notifications in the app, but every other day they seem to reset.

I keep on doing the special offers for free ink, but can’t seem to get the rewards for some reason. I’ve checked again and again that I was correctly following the instructions and still, it’s been over four days that I’ve received the awards of free ink. I don’t know if it’s a bug or not, but please fix this issue.

Tapas has really nice comics BUT THE COINS!!! I watched ads for 1 whole hour... ONE WHOLE FREAKING HOUR ONLY TO GET 336 coins which could only get me one chapter!!! I get that the authors make money and stuff but at least make it cheaper like webcomics ONLY 20 coins for chapter NOT 333!!! Now all I have is 3 coins and my imagination to think of what will happen next in that comic!

Tapas gives content creators great opportunities, and if you only want to read, that’s easy too! Some stories require ink to read while others are free, you can either buy ink, or watch ads or play demo games or invite friends to join tapas to get free ink! I personally believe that it’s an amazing app that needs more love.

Amazing stories and you always get the first chapter/episode free to see if your interested.

I've used Tapas for a while now, and there are a few community comics I love. However, I've been getting more and more frustrated with the shift toward paid comics and away from free to read community comics. Even the wait for free comics need ink to unlock the last 20 episodes. I do think ink is a great way to support artists, but it's too difficult to earn enough free ink to unlock episodes, and there are other platforms like Patreon and Ko-fi for supporting artists. I've also noticed a large portion of popular paid comics advertised on the Tapas home page are pretty questionable BL comics, often with predatory themes. As a member of the LGBT community, it makes me incredibly uncomfortable to see that harmful stereotypes are being promoted over actual representation. To be honest, I'd probably delete the app if it weren't for a couple community comics that haven't made the switch to Webtoon yet.

It seems like the new update took away the option to arrange the list of episodes/chapters by date. It now defaults to oldest on top, and it’s frustrating to no longer be able to toggle between the two settings (especially because I’m a dunce that forgets, so I’ve scrolled half way through whatever list I’m in before I remember I could’ve just got the sort button 😅). I know it’s not a huge thing, but it’s gotten frustrating!

I can’t watch videos for ink anymore. I also have the same issue I see repeated in these reviews: I followed the directions on the reward system, where you play a game and get free ink, only I never got my free ink, and this happened more than once.

I like the stories on the app. There is a plentiful variety of comics to choose from. However, some (most) of these cost ink, which involves real currency. Some people dpn’t really like paying. My favorite comic genre is romance/BL, but a lot of them need ink to be read to full way. I understand and you can get free ink, but still that is not a ton that you can collect at once. It’s annoying you have to pay, with real money, for a comic that will not last you a lifetime.

I lost my account and I do not have access to my email because of an update and I’m frustrated to wait for the free chapters that I already read and have to go through where I left off that I don’t remember.

Every time I go to free ink and scroll to the bottom it starts glitching out like crazy.

The UI is intuitive and visually comprehensive, and the comics I read are absolutely fantastic. However, I have one complaint: it’s really unfriendly to users who don’t make in-app purchases. Some comics are free all the way through, some you have to wait for episodes if you don’t want to pay, and then there are plain old paid comics. There is no indicator on a comic that determines whether or not it is paid (there is a symbol for “wait to read” but no others). For someone like me who can’t afford it, i hate getting 10 episodes in just to learn i’ll never be able to read the rest. I have absolutely nothing against paying for comics (artists need money too) but I do have something against an app that doesn’t allow you to search by free comics, or even see if a comic is free at all without reading it. I understand it’s to encourage users to spend money but that doesn’t mean it’s not a shortsighted design choice. If this were fixed, Tapas would deserve a five-star review without a doubt.

I adore website and the app itself.But one thing bothers me tremendously of when it comes to uploading comics(if I’m wrong and the availability’s are already available, please do let me know). I wish to take it seriously about when it comes to the topic of Uploading Comics. Uploading comics for fun or not, this is a main idea for artists who wish to upload comics on the go or just on laptop, computer, etc. But when it comes to uploading comics on the go, this is not available unfortunately. I apologize if this is already added in the app, but it’s just something I haven’t been able to find yet. Uploading on the go could make a big impact (in my opinion) of how artists work. I, myself am not always available on computers all the time, but am available to mobile. So, if this is possible, I’d like to ask to add the possibility to upload on device. The comic pieces to put together could simply be from your photos. Once again, I deeply apologize if this is already available and for wasting your time in any way possible.

I really love tapas whether it is the app or the website. Or that what it was like. Now, recently I got a new iPhone and when I went to reinstall the tapas app from the App Store it said that it wasn’t allow in my country (USA both in app and in real life) and so I had to go through my already purchased apps to get to it. Everything was fine I logged on and got to a certain place in a comic I’m reading when it crashed. And it kept crashing every time I would try to move from one page to another. Anyone know what is happening? Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Really love tapas, I do, but the new continue reading section is driving me up the wall. I am a bit of a completionist so I don’t like having the continue reading section on my screen because it means i haven’t totally finished reading one of my bookmarks. ‘Sarah’s scribbles’ character wrapped in her little blue blanket is mocking me from the abyss as we speak because of this bug that doesn’t remove it from my continue reading section. It wants me to read “ep. 0” but episode 0 obviously doesn’t even exist and it’s driving me crazy opening my phone to see her sitting there staring at me all day. Please fix this bug I’m going crazy, I have gone through every page in the whole comic just trying to get it to go away and it won’t.

I cannot access forums for the life of me on the app. I can only access it on the desktop. I’d like if you were to add forums, to have push notifications for it if someone replied to you.

I don’t know what’s wrong, but the ads for free ink is gone, and I can’t do anything. So all the series I was reading, I can’t watch ads to read them because I can’t get any ink from ads. I’m really frustrated.

Ever since they introduced the premium comics they have been pushing them harder and harder. To the point where it is getting hard to find any new or interesting regular comics. I understand the need to monetize their products so that the artists have a source of income but it is getting out of hand. Also in the most recent update they altered how chapters were organized under the tab, and while it would be great if I ever found a new comic to read, it makes finding the updates on comics I have been following for a bit harder to find.

I love Tapas. It introduced me to the wonderful world of webcomics, and there’s almost nothing I love more than discovering a new one. BUT, I don’t like that the Community tab was replaced by a Premium tab in the new update. Sponsored/premium comics are already all over the website, so the Community tab was great so I could find all the free comics with ease. PLEASE bring back the Community tab!

I love Tapas but the one thing I dislike is that so many of the episodes cost money and lots of us don’t have any to spend money on the episodes.

I’ve had this for a year and its really good it’s got really good comics on there. They sell comic creators t shirts so I can get some SICK merch, also you can start from the beginning of the comic or the last place you left off you and you get notifications when your favorite comics update. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to pay money for keys and coins to read comics or to tip the comic creator but it’s fine

To be completely honest, the app is great! There are so many different comics to read along with novels. It’s easy to use and everything is placed in convenient locations. My only problem with the app is the coin system. Let’s be serious, no one is going to spend $20 or more for coins. I’m not watching 30 adds for one episode either. Please make it cheaper or easier to get coins. It’s an inconvenience to have you to sit for an hour to get one unlocked episode. Thank you, ARandomViewer

The coin system is just broken. Please fix the system. I love reading on this app, and the chapters and comics are really amazing and addicting, but, please just make the watching ads pay out more coins. Maybe 20 coins per ad and no limit to watching them. It would make things a lot easier as it costs 200 coins to read a single chapter, so 10 ads for a single chapters. This would be amazing, I don’t exactly want to spend several months grinding out ads to read a single comic with 300 chapters. Of course, I can spend money, but it’d be better to just buy complete books on amazon for under 10 dollars.

I got Tapas solely for reading Snailed It! And I needed up checking out some other comics. I really like this app, but I have one problem: When I watch ads the video doesnt show up and doesn’t give me any coins. I can’t get any from the ads and I’m a little annoyed because I can’t read other chapters. I hope this gets fixed, other wise this is a five star app from my pov. ~💜

Would be nice if there was a recommended section that's based on what other people have in their library like what any other web store does. Instead they push their paid content way too hard. The novels are just an afterthought to the comics. The search functionality is lacking. It basically just looks at titles and tags. No search based on relevance or new works (fresh is just an update to a work) or completed works.

I 100% understand supporting artists. As an artist myself, I totally get it. Except it’s hard to keep reading when you have to give ‘Ink’ for each episode and that’s mostly because it’s way too expensive. You’ve got the option to watch ads but the ads take close to a full minute and you can only manage 10 coins for ink out of it. Most episodes cost 300. It’s really frustrating and needs to be fixed, please. Other than that this is a solid app that I stand behind.

This app is a very good app. But one problem. You have to unlock the stories with coins. So if you want to get free coins, then you have to either watch a video or invite your friends. I hope that they will have more events so that we can get more free coins. But otherwise, this app is very good.

I just discovered this app a few days ago, and I’m LOVING it!! Not only are there a bunch of incredible stories on here, they are very largely stories with excellent representation of queer, disabled, POC, and otherwise marginalized folks, both as writers and as characters. As a queer, disabled, middle-eastern, Jewish comics lover, this makes me extremely happy!! I also really like the coin system, because it allows me to unlock chapters solely by watching ads instead of by paying for them, while also giving me the option of avoiding ads altogether if that is my preference. The ability to tip creators is also really cool!! Thanks for making such a great app!!

Okay, I’m pretty ticked right now... I’m needing to tell my reader that I’m going on a hiatus, and I can’t... for some reason I am not able to sign into my account on my computer. I’ve tried to reset my password, but it just takes me to the app to put in my current password... I can’t put my current password in if I don’t know it! I know I have my email right when I try to sign in, but it’s saying my password is invalid...

Okay hi! I would like to start out with Tapas is AWESOME! I Love the way it is and the comics and novels! And that the creators of the comics always somehow find ways to get their stories printed out. It super cool. It's just... the coin system. I know I know, I shouldn't be hating on it. It's coins and I should just deal with it myself, but... Ugh! It's killing me! The fact that the coins are hard to come by even when you watch ads or successfully invite someone to make an account, in the end, the price to read a chapter or even the entire story gets way too high. But seriously I have no right to judge.

Tapas is a great app to find all kinds of wonderful content and I’m a frequent user of the app, however ever since I updated the app it glitches when I try to scroll ㅜ.ㅜ . Please fix this issue, because other than this it is a really great app.

So, this app is alright. I’m ok with some of the comics and such but I can’t STAND when they ask for ink. Some chapters require this s***** c*** called “ink” and you need it in order to proceed the chapter. It cost money. They’ll let you read it for free but it literally has a timer and I have to wait 6 days to read it. You know how fast I’ll loose interest? I wish this app could by like WEBTOON where they get paid by the company. :/ So honestly this app isn’t really worth it. Once they get rid of the ink thing it’ll be so much better.

Not only is the ink for the artist to unlock the stories expensive but they charge you $0.14 in tax!!!! It’s honestly ridiculous! Only reason why I gave it two stars instead of one is because some stories are decent.

There's a Tapas-sponsored comic called Master's Secret Baby showing up first thing on the homepage right now. The very first episode has the main character be raped, and it's not even actually treated as a bad thing. The rapist? He's the future main love interest, because it's a romance comic. No, it's not tagged as drama, it's a romance. If Tapas wants to sponsor and advertise a comic sexualizing r*** as one of their best... Then, as a long time Tapas user, I'm really sorry about having to migrate to Webtoon, but this is NOT the kind of service I want to support.

I absolutely love this app and all the different comics that they provide. However, just recently I haven’t been able to scroll through the comic chapter and it glitches out.

There’s lots of glitches. Especially when I’m reading where if I’m scrolling it lags unless I scroll really fast which is just impossible to read then. Also, there’s end parts of chapters missing and it’s annoying missing out on info. It’s great and there’s lots of stories!

This used to be my favorite comic app, and now I'm struggling to find new content that I can actually afford. Ink is expensive, the wait for free timers are long, and if you're broke as heck trying to read comics on a budget this is not for you. The explore section will only give you featured (expensive) comics and everything not already featured is buried so far in that I'd be surprised if they gained any new readers. I understand the importance of paying authors and is gladly pay for something that I love, but I want to branch out to see more. What about new authors trying to gain traction? I miss old Tapas...

After the most recent update, I can’t scroll down the comic episode list... please fix this issue. Also, did the update get rid of user reviews? What is the justification behind this decision?

I love this app but the new update is horrible. My comics won’t open. And I bought a comic it took my coins but didn’t unlock the episode.

Nothing is working and they’ve made it so user unfriendly it’s not worth the crashing and freezing to deal with.

I really enjoy many of the comics on this site, however it’s gotten really hard to find the comics that are free to read.

This is an amazing app. I love how entertained it makes me. I would like it better if there wasn’t a waiting limit. The stories should keep going on but it’s okay if they need time to write the next chapter. Thank you for you hard work and this app is really good.

I would like to inform you I finished a special offer recently for 5,000 inks and even after 24hours it still hasn’t shown up. I read the requirements just to make sure I hadn’t done something wrong and it shows that I did not, I love this app but find this very frustrating.

The app right now can be very hard to use. Because of how chrome change certain http renderings many times interactive ad will hang for 15 secs or crash the app. :/

I love the comics on this app. I really used to love the comments part of the app, because unlike other platforms there were no people vying for top comment, only people who wanted to discuss the story. Now there is not even an option to view comments chronologically, but in order of most to fewest likes.

The layout of the app is very interactive and easier to use than others. You can even watch commercials to get free currency to get stories. This app also has free episodes that come out for stories and sometime theirs really good deals.

There are almost no ink ads anymore, I don’t know if it’s because it’s the holidays or because the update is trash and scared off investors, but I used to be able to sit there for hours watching ads and raking up hundreds of coins, now 90% of the time I can’t even watch 1 ad let alone enough to actually do anything. Thank God the comics I read are free because I can’t afford to do more than tip the author whenever it’s actually possible, especially now Also, bring back the old tipping set up! This one is confusing and clunky and inhibits my ability to watch ads en mass with relative ease 😡😡😡 The donation log should be in a separate tab of the tip window. Since we use ink now just change the animation for the tip to droplets splashing out or something and leave the set up the nice smooth way that it was

Has a lot of great webcomics and a nice community that can give you tips on your own webcomics.

so i know, long time user. i haven’t payed once for a story. stay on the community tab for the best stories. i have about 24 stories at the moment i am readings all from the community tab and i couldn’t be happier! i’m rating 3 stars cause i gave up on the app in the first place thinking i had to pay for it. make the app a little clearer for the fact that you can read incredible stories for free and the app would get more recognition.

I love the comics and art in this app, but I can’t read it all without waiting a hour for me to finally have 289 ink from the adds only too have one unlocked, I understand that it’s better to savor the content but I am to young to pay for ink so I’d at least like if I can get two episodes instead of one. But that is my only complaint other than that I love this app I encourage others to download it ! ^-^

I recently retrieved 800 coins and then one day later they just disappeared, can I please get my 800 coins back it will really make my day.

I used to love tapas and would log in everyday. They have premium comics that I enjoy paying for. That’s no problem. The problem is that tapas has been promoting comics that are extremely rapey. And use that as a romantic base for the comic. I beg tapas to stop featuring comics that are about the main character falling in love with the person who r**** her. It’s been too common lately. I miss the good content.

Okay so first off, after one update i cant find all of my comics on the app, only the most recently updated ones and the ones i read last, which are the recently updated ones. I can’t find the actual list of ALL of my comics on the phone app. I can on the website but not on the phone app. Secondly, i HATE the monthly pop ups. This isnt a terrible thing but there is a pop up usually about the newest comic or an app to gain ink (as of writing this review it was the switch from Coins to Ink) and you have three options: Read, Not now, or Never show this again. I hit “Never Show this again” after reading it because i dont need to see it every time I open the page only to find that the pop up keeps appearing but that option is gone now. Now every time I open the app i have to see “Coins are now Ink! Find out why.” And i HAVE to close it... Please fix All comics so i can re-read old comics not just the recently updated ones Please fix the pop ups.

Too many pay stories. Better off buying hard copies to support the author than pay per view.

I am a starting comic artist who just posted my first comic on this app. I love it, and it’s super easy! I would just like to know how to tip? It doesn’t have the tip button anywhere. So please fix that(^^ )

I do like this app and I just got it two days ago, my problem is I am not getting notifications to notify me about when the comics I subscribed to are updating, also before you ask, I do have notifications on as Tapas notifies me when a free comic is available, but doesn’t tell me when comics I subscribed to (as stated above) have been updated, I have to physically go into the app. Is anyone else having this problem?

This app is an extremely good one. I love it's content, the way helps creators, and it's logical system of coins and keys. Speaking of which, I especially like how you can earn free coins by simply watching adds. I usually watch adds on my phone (an iOS 10.3 running iPhone 5) but now I cannot. Every time I attempt to open the free coins tab the app crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Tapas app and it still doesn't work. I am writing this review because when I tried the give feedback option it told me to set up an email which I have already done. It was unable to send an email to the developers. However, this is a true five star app that I love and use daily. Without this small irritation it is pretty much perfection.

I wasn't having any issues until I took the latest update. Now Tapas crashes every time I click on the free coins link. I keep watching for a new update to fix that and hope one is coming - and not that I'm just out of luck b/c I can't upgrade to IOS 11.

This is a great app for comics and the comics and novels are great too but when I try to download an app so I can gain coins tapas sends me to another app that is NOT the App Store and I don’t know how to fix it. Please fix this bug thank you❤️

The app is a great place to read comics, but I seem to have a problem with the most recent version of this app on my iPad- it always crashes when I go to the 'Free Coins' page. It'll work just fine if I go to the store where you can purchase coins with real money, it seems to be that purely the 'Free Coins' page doesn't work. Hope that gets fixed, but great other than that!

I downloaded this app to support some friends whose work I really enjoy. As a result it’s important to me to get notified right away when they post something! However when you turn notifications on, the only thing you get notifications for is when this app is begging for more money. Buy tokens, buy a chapter of a book I don’t read nor will I ever read, buy a subscription... meanwhile I am not getting notifications for the books I actually care about !! If there would be away to turn off the pandering and only get notifications for the stories and NOT “deals” or other forms of begging this app would be great. I also don’t think it’s very friendly to new comic artists considering how much they shill for people who already have massive followings on multiple platforms.

I use this app a ton and I love that I can watch ads for coins (even when I have to watch a lot) but the new update is crashing my app every time I go to watch them. I even tried to delete and reinstall the app; didn't work. Hopefully this gets resolved soon because I have a few premium comics I follow that I can't see the updates of without buying them ☹️

Okay. So This is a great app. It’s very fun to read the comics! Buuuutttt, slight problem with purchasing ink. But the support team (I’m guessing they’re that time of thing) was absolutely so helpful with getting the ink I hadn’t received! It worked out and Tappas is awesome!

I’m not sure why but when I try to read certain comics (like GamerCat and Genji Cat and The Pigeon Gazette) they just stay on a white screen indefinitely. I think it’s comics I was already subscribed to a while ago cause new subscriptions I can read fine. It’s been going on for a while, I had hoped one of the updates would eventually fix it. They work on the desktop fine, so it’s just the app.

So ever since the last update it hasn’t been letting me read and of my favorited stories. As soon as i click on a chapter the whole app freezes and i can’t go back, forward or even scroll because well the pages aren’t showing up. I’m getting upset because all my favorites are updating but i can’t read any of them you know? I even logged in and out and nothing. It’s really upsetting although this is happening i still give it a 5 star because i love this app and i trust you will fix it.

I really like it. The only problem is when your trying to get coins via comer takes it some times freezes up and some of the adds don’t work on apple iPhones. But it’s usually okay.

Immediately surprised and pleased with this app, both with content and performance. It's easy to use/navigate and it is chock full of GREAT stories with FANTASTIC artwork. It's a go-to app that lives on my home screen now, right next to Instagram. Yassss!

I actually very much enjoy this app and the website in general. Its very nice and easy to follow all of my favorite artists but my issue is, Why do I bother to save coins for comics when my coins end up disappearing and I end up with nothing saved? The coin system for comics is very frustrating because it seems like all of my coins disappear. I save up coins to tip artists and unlock comics yet I can’t do that when I have none for some mysterious reason. Please fix this issue because its frustrating. If it doesn’t happen i’ll most likely end up removing the comics that require coins to unlock or moving to a different website/app to follow my favorite artists. The first few times it happened I didn’t care much, i just watched ads to get them back. Now its bothering me too much to ignore anymore. I can only watch so many ads.

i love tapas. really. i’ve been using the app for almost four years, and it’s never failed to disappoint. formatting, flow, software- the app runs smoothly and the interface is always beautiful. however, this recent update has me extremely disappointed. tapas has made it incredibly difficult to find comics that aren’t ‘tapas originals’ aka they cost money. all of the home page is taken up by these pay-to-read books and comics, and their search algorithm also seems to favor them. it’s unfair to free creators, people who may not be able to spend $$ on comics, and just disappointing as a whole.

While I was making a account it glitched and put a password for me i logged out and tried to reset my password and they set me a reset password email and I pressed on the link or button and it just says”We couldn’t find what you were looking for”I don’t get it how am I supposed to get in my account now without knowing my password

Watching all these ads just to unlock one chapter is really annoying and inconvenient. We should get daily coins-at least to help us out a little bit. This earning system has no give. Please add some improvements to the coin earning system. And once in a while I’ll get a grey screen after an ad, then I have to exit out of the app and open it again. Then I lose those coins. Please fix this bug soon.

I’m so frustrated by the new update, the navigation of this app is so hard now! I can’t explore the community tab at all because there’s no place to chose a genre, there’s only “trending now” and “new episodes” sections. The explore tab has the genres but the featured comics are mixed in. I don’t mind paying for episodes or watching ads for “ink” now but I kinda want to search the “free” part of tapas without having the paid stuff right in my face 😂😂 the update just seems counterproductive. I’m stuck waiting for things in my library to update rather than seeing if anyone has posted anything new

I can’t view certain comics, I don’t know why. It stays on a white blank page indefinitely. I was hoping an update would eventually fix it but nothing is happening.

So recently Ive just updated to ios 11.1 on my 5s and I am greatly angered! Demons cant be pretty just updated and I wanted to earn coins to watch the next episode. But whenever I click the ad and opens and I press play its doesnt respond! I can go to the link for the app but it wont play the ad. PLEASE FIX THIS

It’s really fun. I like to read and read comics and it has all of it. One thing I would say it to make it easier to get coins. Like daily you can just get a small amount. If you don’t have any than you can only read certain comics or novels unless you pay money for it or do one of the challenges to earn them. The ones you can read for free aren’t as popular so it’s hard to stay up to date if you don’t have a lot or you just can’t get any coins at all. But over all I like it and stuff I can read is good.

I read something and when I get close to episode 9 or 8 that it says I have to pay with coins?!?! You just want money so like why should I waste my hard worked money on this s***** stuff while I can go read for free at line WEBTOON or webcomics. So let me just say this this is the worst comic app I’ve ever downloaded I love the comics but not when you have to PAY WITH MONEY I would give it a zero star rating if I could.

The app is great. The only complaint is that I keep getting false notifications. Everytime I open the app to check I see nothing new. I think for now the only solution is turn off notifications and check in everyday.

The app doesn’t let you search by genre or tags. The feedback feature doesn’t actually let you send them a message.

Tapas is a really well designed app with an intuitive interface. The stories their are unique and very inspired, like good indie game, anyone new to it should definitely give The Witches Throne a try.

I was happy to get some coins for being a new member but they disappeared before i could use them and without notice i was kinda sad... The app is still really cute and easy to use however i feel the download's can be a little smoother to load ...

Was finally able to do it but now every time I have to change my password I have to delete the app on my phone to reset it. The app glitches when you try to reset from your email it automatically opens the app instead of doing the password change.

Tapas was great with awesome comics, literally no complaints. Then one day Tapas logged me out of my account, which had around 5,000 coins but my fault there since I don’t remember my account info. Now for my new account I can’t get coins. I recently did one of the promotions where you get an app and complete it at a certain level, but I didn’t get the coins. I know I did it right since that’s how I got 5,000 coins on my old account. Now recently, I actually bought coins and they didn’t transfer to my account, but I understand that sometimes you have to wait at least 24 hours..... so that’s what i’m gonna do. Please let me know if I’m doing something wrong.

Hey tapas, so I’ve been watching ads lately, but there’s a problem when the ad is done; I’ll press the “x” to get my reward, but it just leads me to a grey screen. The only way I can get out of the screen is by closing the app, which in turn doesn’t get me a reward... is this a bug that you guys can fix please and thank you?

So, I love tapas. I loved reading all these great comics and I accumulated a lot. But then I updated it and I LOST THEM ALL. Years of collecting comics gone to waste. I’m so infuriated and frustrated. I can’t remember every comic I ever saved so I’ll never get those back.

I starting to really hate this app.why you must ask? This reason is because as soon as the comic gets good you need to pay coins for an episode. Some people can’t pay for these. Well, since I’m here, and the “give us feedback” in the app won’t let me send anything, I might as well get these all out there... Getting very frustrated with the notification settings! I only want it to notify me when the series I’m following is updated, and instead it keeps sending me other things. I’ve gone into settings and turned off everything but the new episodes notification, and then a while later I get a notification for something I’d turned off. I load the app again and check settings, and everything’s turned back on! Please fix this! The other thing I find really annoying is that there is nothing to tell you which comics are free and which require coins to get past a couple of episodes. I know the coins are to help the creators and that’s fine, but we readers should at least be aware of if we’re going to have to pay to read or not before we get into the story.

This new update doesn’t allow you to search all community comics and novels? When you go to community tab you can only see the new episodes, the trending ones and “what we’re reading”. Before you could search on community every genres and now I can’t find it? Please allow us to search community comics and novels per genres again

This app is great for free comics and finding new ones. However it will give you notifications to no end and have that (1) on its app EVERY DAY. It’s becoming so tedious I’m considering deleting it entirely, since it fools me into thinking I may have an important email or something in its app folder. ..don’t get me wrong. I’ll take notifications for when there’s comic updates. But a constant daily remind of “check out the daily mix” or whatever is getting on my nerves. Especially when I get a buzz during class and it’s this app. That and also, the app does not seem to change its homepage and recommendations often, nor does it base it on your likes or genres. Either that or they only choose to show t***** manga romance upfront.

Tapas used to be my favorite comic app, but with the recent updates, it’s gone downhill. the library has become far too complicated and the daily snack is hard to find. the whole app has become muddied and user unfriendly. i sincerely hope they go back to how it used to be.

believe me i love this new update. but i’m having a hard time with it. before when i went to the community tab to read my comics i scrolled down and pressed the genre i wanted. now however i can’t gains where the genres are for community. i could it oh so perfectly easy for the ones where you are paying for. just not for the community. please tell me where the genre area is. please and thank you.

I pay for the premium stories and when I do they load just fine but any of the free stories I read none of them will load when I select the next page and then the app crashes !!!! :( I really like this app and will change my review once this problem is solved but if I can’t read the free to read comics without the app crashing it will remain a 1 Star

This app is one of my favorites for comics. It has so many choices that it’s amazing. One thing I have to mention is that there’s a lot of premium comics that need coins (which cost money or ads) to read. Other than that it’s a really good app and I recommend it.

The only reason I gave it three stars was because I don’t like how you will be reading something really good then it like this chapters locked and I’m just like Bish I don’t go money to pay for ink and I have better thing to do with time then watch ads for more ink

Ridiculous. Each CHAPTER requires 70-200 coins. You can earn usually 10, TEN coins by watching a single advertisement. Entire stories cost typically a few thousand coins. Good luck with those advertisements. It’s pretty easy to tell Tapas is making a huge profit here. Most of the stories aren’t well written enough, and NO story is worth the thousands of coins the completed stories are worth. Is this Harry Potter? Game of Thrones? No, most of the authors are underaged, and it shows. It’s also insulting that most authors only give 5-7 paragraphs per “chapter”. If you want to read better quality free online stories, please look at Wattpad or Radish. Radish has a coin system too but at least it has some free stories, while everything on Wattpad is free (though most are the same quality). It says a lot that several Wattpad free stories are copied into Tapas but cost coins. Search up light novels if you want translated free t***** stories. If you’re looking for higher quality, I recommend searching up web serials online. The ones written by wildbow are really good. Do not fall for Tapas.

I love this app and all the comics but it's hard to read more of my favorite comics when I'm broke and it takes a while to get coins by watching ads I hope the coin system goes away because it takes a lot to read your comics when you have to watch ads longer than reading the comic D: I always love to read the comics when I have coins but I'm getting sick of watching ads and I hope you guys just add in some ads here and there instead of doing coins please take this note in consideration :)

I was interested in this app until I noticed one thing there is a BL section but no GL section as well if people are going to support lgbtqia comics then I say there should be all kinds not just BL ones

I have read the same chapter three times when I finally get to read a new one after a week. This is ridiculous. It has happened with three comics and is really annoying and kind of a rip off of the free usage.

A variety of selections I can always spend time on

I've given this apps transition a year-long chance and I'm over it. The app is free, but the webcomics the app advertises heaviest are becoming increasingly more costly, and more difficult for the impoverished to access with time. Be honest, you guys want everyone to make money off of this including yourselves so just STOP spamming poor comic enthusiasts with your "deals" when you've completely stopped giving free coin boosts. Just charge for the apps usage already. In the mean time, the rest of us will be over on Line Webtoons app enjoying their lack of spam and their surplus of webcomic artists who set up their own patreons and their own advertising.

Honestly I’m a huge webcomic weeb and this app is no exception. I love the comics people make. I just wish that I could actually find a comic that’s entirely free. I never know whether one is free or not unless I click on it, and if I liked the concept of the comic, then it’s a pretty big disappointment. I’d like to request for you guys to put some sort of symbol on the comics/novels that’s aren’t free so we readers know whether or not we’ll have to pay before we get our hopes up. It would be a lot easier to find free comics and novels too, as we could easily tell whether they are or aren’t due to the symbol on the comic/novel. I hope you take this into consideration. It would make things a lot easier. Thank you!

Let me start this by saying it’s a good app. But. It’s frustrating that you can’t continue a series without having tons of ink. I get it. They need money. But what about Webtoons? It’s free. All of it. It’s sad that people lose interest in series just because they can’t pay for more ink. Their free ink offers are only 10 per add. (The adds aren’t very short.) And then I had to go through this whole fiasco where I didn’t even receive my ink! Pushing those problems away, the stories are fun to read and the authors are amazing. I would recommend it. But if your not willing to spend money to continue reading, i’d say skip this one out.

Really good app. You have to pay for chapters but they’ve got really good deals. However I’ve been experiencing a very troublesome issue. I’ll buy a chapter but it’s done a weird thing. I know I’ve bought the next chapter but it won’t say that. I could be on chapter 45 having already bought 46 yet it says buy chapter 48 first. I’ve tried all ways I could think of to fix it and none have worked. Closing the app, going out and clicking on said chapter, pressing next, none have worked. I’d really appreciate if this could be fixed so my money wouldn’t be wasted on chapters I’ve bought but can’t read.

This is the best app ever ( also one of the reasons I have so many bags under my eyes)I’m on it every freakin day, not even lying!

I love Tapas, but their app is difficult to use and tries to push you to spend money. I only read the free comics because I can’t afford the price per page for many of the comics I’m interested in. The app makes it almost impossible to find free content unless it’s something already in your library. They don’t provide a way to search for free comics only, like they do on their website. In the app there is no indication a comic is premium until you’ve hit the end of the first few pages which are free, which lured you into starting a comic hoping you’ll feel compelled to pay to finish it. On the website premium comics are clearly marked! Overall a poor experience when compared to their site.

i don’t mind waiting a week to read an episode. i think it’s amazing for those who can’t afford ink for whatever reason. what i don’t like is that it won’t apply to the last 3-5 episodes. there’s been many times where i’ll wait to read but then i see the description and i have no choice but to pay in order to see the ending. it completely dismisses the whole point of “waiting to read”.

Some premium comics are worth it. I do wish updates were more consistent (I have a few particular premium comics in mind), or at least the author could upload some message to explain why they can’t update and maybe some time estimate for when they will be back... Some little things in the app are inconsistent, like the “top comments” repeat in the next episode. Also not sure if ratings are just a thing on the Google Play Store app and not on the Apple version... but it’s a shame I don’t see them on the Apple app because they can be helpful. I like the new scrolling and arrows functions to go to the next episode, but i wish the app kept the swiping motion when you’re at the very top or at the bottom of the comic. It’s easier for when I’m just trying to rapidly unlock the episodes. However, I’ll admit it was very annoying when I would scroll down the episode while reading and accidentally swipe a little too much to the side and it would go to the next episode, so I’m thankful for the new features.

This all is great but like any other app it has its faults, #1) The time it takes to get a reward for a game takes a long time sometimes; and the reward may change without notice meaning no reward in the end. #2) The surveys are a little abstract and depending on the questions and answers then you may or may not qualify for the reward at the end. Other than these two things I love the work that the app features. How this helps you guys

This is one of my favorite apps at the moment. I enjoy seeing the comics of my favorite artist, and I love the notification I get when the daily snack is sent. BUUUTTT it would be nice to post comics on mobile. I don’t know if I’m s***** and just didn’t see it or something but from what I can tell you can only do it on a computer (or something similar. Either way, I don’t have a computer). Other than that, this is an amazing app! If I could give a 4.9 Star I would :)

I dislike how you can read the first few pages and then bom! You have pay for it and I don't have time to waste to watch videos just to get ink just so I can read one page down just do it all over again but the 100% storys are good and I love hove there more than wed toons and I currently use both apps

This app is great 😩👏👏👏 I just hate how you need ink to read comics

I follow all the rules to the offers I download the app they want me to then get to the level they want wait the 24 hours and not reward it’s been 2 days since I completed the reward and still no reward this app has wonderful comics that I love but is it worth it with all these other faults? You put all this effort for nothing! And this isn’t just me my friend who got me into this app has accomplished many of these offers with no reward and nowhere to send a complaint to. They really need to get their app in order especially the when it comes to their offers system.

The app used to work great! However, for the past couple of weeks the app will freeze then crash after playing one of the free ink ads. It is annoying for obvious reasons; moreso because I never get the ink even though I watch the entire ad.

It's great.

Love the app but with longer comics the app has started to not load the whole thing and I’ve had to back out and reselect the chapter after scrolling a bit.
