I purchased this to help with my Hebrew vocabulary and pronunciation because i am a beginner to the language, but the sound on the app isn’t functioning, which is pretty disappointing. I’ll still use it as a dictionary i guess

The first words I tried to look up were missing. “Oz, Oznim” only brought up “Vz” words. Back to Brown-Driver-Briggs for me!!! I’m sure though that there are many many many other words I will need to research or look up that will be present, hence the 4 stars.

I love your app and have it on my first page. One of the most appreciated aspects of the app is the translator which can pronounce the words in Hebrew for me. I know that it is not perfected yet, but it is just an example of your continual efforts to keep improving the app. Keep up the fantastic work. And a heart-felt thank you. And to prove my point, you just updated some Nikud capabilities. Thanks!

I would definitely recommend this app to anyone studying Hebrew. I especially like how I do not have to be connected via wifi nor 3G in order to access this app.

While it is indeed true that in Hebrew there can many translations and interpretations of different words, I have found that the interpretation/definition of the words identified as the "word of the day" were so far off base and incorrect that it would be blasphemy to attempt to learn Hebrew from this app. DO NOT BUY

Just staring to learn but app is very useful for me.

Your development people did a real nice work here. Q: Is there a means to go back to a previous screen or toggle between screens for words, sentences, quotes? Maybe there is and I missed it. Really though, a real nice piece of work.

There are some of us who don't have a fluent background in Hebrew and never learned to read Hebrew without vowels. There's no way to set it so all words contain vowels. Once in a while a word or phrase here or there will have vowels but, of course, what I need to look up don't have vowels so I can't even attempt to pronounce the words And many are in cursive instead of print - also impossible for people who don't know Hebrew in cursive. The app also is glitchy trying to bookmark words and phrases and put them in any type of coherent list is impossible. I'm sorry I wasted money in this app because it isn't better than the free one. And the female voice that speaks the words is hard to understand and heavily accented. Again no help at all.

It needs to be made clear that this is an English dictionary for Hebrew speakers, not a Hebrew dictionary for English speakers

turn on Hebrew international keyboard and can type Hebrew words for English meaning. looks like a lot of Hebrew words still need English definition added.

This is a handy thing to have on your phone out "on the street", but it's more geared towards Hebrew speakers who need an English dictionary. Only the English words are pronounced. Not much use for English speakers. Still, it is a pretty decent dictionary.

This is a wonderful program from a good company the continues to improve it with new features. It allows you to create you own list of vocabulary words in Hebrew which you can memorize using a variety of flash card layouts. This dictionary is a great addition to other Hebrew learning programs by Rossetta Stone (or the inexpensive app that works just like it, Hebrew in a Month). Having a good dictionary like this allows you to get the most out of your study material and learn faster. I would encourage the developers to pay closer attention to Hebrew verbs and infinitives so that the Hebrew vocabulary ican become as extensive as the English. Also, it would be great if the user had the option of adding manually words that are missing. I am sure these features will be part of feature versions released by this excellent company. מזל טוב

A good app but it would be better if you could search english to hebrew and hebrew to english. Also would be helpful if it included the gender of nouns, at the least, the irregulars ones. Please fix the problem with your parenthesis please

Very handy and comprehensive app, good work, it just need more vocal "sound" assistance for pronunciation.

I wish they would have mentioned in the description that it doesn't have pronunciation feature. Please update with pronunciation asap.

I spent a great deal of time building a bookmark list for review. When I installed the latest update the list was wiped out. Worse, a new list of words I don't want to review was substituted in its place!!!!

Easy to use, and I use it often.

This review is limited as I use only the text related sections. In general it is a very useful tool. What follows are hopefully helpful suggestions. Would love it to be easier and consistent to select and copy Hebrew or English text even between its own segments (one example: word of the day into translator). I can't figure how the bookmarks are useful. The recently used list should filter out duplicate entries. Touching the audio spots often misses and hits the menu and bookmark spots, very annoying (how about moving them down to the text-box divider area?) The WOD translator doesn't always match the translator results.

I love this app it has so many great options to help you expand your vocabulary. I can only hope that they continue to improve upon this already great app.

This is a really great app-I learned the majority of my hebrew while I used it! It's a better dictionary than google.

A useful app, but with glaring limitations. Most verbs are missing from the Hebrew side. Many words have a definition reading, in entirety, "C". Vowel points are shown if you search by the English word but not by the Hebrew word. Flash cards don't show vowels. The word game is bizarre, frequently using English words that I (a well-educated native speaker) have never heard of. I use it because I haven't been able to find a better one, but I hesitate to recommend it.

I really love this app. I read, speak, write Hebrew well. Never the less I wanted to move to the next level. THIS APP IS GOD SEND!!!!!!! I'm learning too speak as an Israeli news anchor person. The very high level of the language. I made a statement to a born citizen of the country. He stated that was very high level Hebrew. Thanks to this App!!!!!!!

I only have one complaint about this app. The voice recording is so mechanical it is sometimes is really hard to understand. Other than that the dictionary is very useful and was worth what I paid for it.

No audio in Hebrew No english text to explain how to say Hebrew words. All you get is Hebrew Text.

I feel scammed. I bought this SPECIFICALLY for audio pronunciations, and all of the words that I've looked up so far have no audio translation. I want my money back.

Needs correct pronunciation in Hebrew . Should be able to translate Hebrew into English and vice versa!

This is a very helpful app. In occasion there is a bit of gender confusion, but all in all, very good.

A translation dictionary without vowels is of very limited value. The provision of phrases using the word looked up is a plus for this app.

Not helpful if you are looking for english to Hebrew translation and pronunciation in Heb.

I use this app daily to learn new vocabulary, look up words and phrases, and to translate tough sentences. There is a lot of useful info here! Could be improved by having more nikkud in the glosses to help beginners but that does not detract too much from the value of the app.

This is an excellent Hebrew app. One of the best features of this app is that it provides audio pronunciation of the Hebrew, which is not available is Google Translate. Also it provides a dictionary in addition to translation. I use this app every day for my studies. Only one suggestion for improvement: the app could be streamlined to reduce the number of keystrokes for navigation especially in the translator.

The best feature of this app is that it links to Wiktionary, which is free on the internet. Totally worthless, a waste of $4

I downloaded this app with the understanding it would help english speaking people learn Hebrew .....wrong ! it gives me a new english word everyday !? What !!!!?

More nikkud and a taggin system instead of bookmarks please!!

Helps a lot with my studies. Learning Hebrew as an adult and this is great for vocab.

Don't buy this app , I only bought it to hear spoken Hebrew , this App doesn't do that , it only speaks English , in which I am fluent .

It does a very good job on the words that it has. I would say it has about 85% of the words that I ask for.

Not good, it's only worth it if your trying to learn to write what you know in English to Hebrew, but there are no definitions with any of the word and many words don't have plurals

Good database of words, but only English to Hebrew. It should be emphasized that the dictionary is geared for Hebrew speakers. It would be a valuable feature to have Hebrew pronunciations.

Reversibility might make this useful app more useful. By that I mean 1) you can get very different results by looking up a word in English than by starting from the Hebrew word. I'd also like to see the gender identified, plurals added, and I'd like to be able to flip the Flashcards for drills.

The full edition is pretty complete in both directions and is really useful for airplanes and other places you can't use Google Translate.

This app is one of the best ways to learn Hebrew.If only they added ‏נקודות for every word then it would be the best!!!! Please add ‏נקודות,it really helps with pronouncing words.

Although this wouldn't be my first choice for a Hebrew dictionary, this is the only one I've found that works in both directions (H-E, and E-H) and has nekudos. Very thorough!
