Why can’t I buy books on this nook apple store app? I never have issues with the app on my androids.

Although it would be nice to be able to purchase through the app rather than having to log onto barnesandnoble.com!

Nook has made reading much more enjoyable for me. Being able to find meanings of unfamiliar words with a just tap is amazing. It’s an awesome app😊😊

I have no idea what this book is about because even though the title on the front cover was in English the book itself was not. I haven’t looked that closely to determine the language, I only know that I can’t read it. I have no idea how to return, or exchange, it. I am not happy with this selection.

I use the Nook app on my iPad and I love it. No problems at all.

This version will not allow multiple profiles. If you share books with anyone, stick with previous app. I'm using it on an iPad so all of Apple's silliness may be affecting proper operation.

Still a problem - I read books on my phone and iPad with the app. The book does not synch across those devices to the correct page. Nor does the app synch with my actual Nook device. I want to use this over Kindle...please fix....still not working.

The Kindle app is significantly better because of the option of choosing your own colors and the never ending scroll option versus the page flip. Being able to scroll makes it so much easier and faster to read books. Nook/ Barnes and Noble is behind the times and Amazon is going to knock you out if you don’t adapt and keep up.

If you're in the Apple ecosystem this is a great app. You can read all your Nook books across iPhone & IPad and pick up where you left off reading, regardless of which device you are using. It's easy to change font size and margins, you even have several back round page colors to choose from. Highly recommended!

If you want to read a book you have to buy that book!!! Like c’mon! What a waste of my time!

I just bought a Nook book via B&N but can’t view it or any content because the app crashes before anything will load. I tried restarting my phone in case it was a problem on my end, but still crashes. Please update the app or refund my money!!

Great! No problems, glitches, or frustration (which is as good as it gets today with technology brought to market before truly ready, even by us users!). Have been Nook fan since it came out, so long ago I cannot remember. I truly prefer book in hand for easier flipping, more readable graphics, and better comprehension/retention. But instant gratification has won out, especially when focused on particular author or subject. App version has many more and better features over my old hand reader.

I have numerous books downloaded to my iPhone 8 Plus application that will not open... books I paid for. I have submitted help requests to B&K and received no assistance. Not pleased at all.

App would be so much better without the glitchiness of the note taking and highlighting feature. It only works when it wants to. As a student who likes to take notes these functions are crucial! I would buy a paperback before buying another book on this app again! Students beware!!!

I somehow connected from the app to the B&N page where I could create an account. It immediately wouldn’t recognize my account info (e-mail or password), and I couldn’t find the sign-up page again—or any page that even allowed me to sign up. I finally found a page that looked like it would let me sign up, but it wouldn’t let me enter any information. I shouldn’t have to work this hard to give a company my business! I was forced to buy the book I wanted from someone else and ended up deleting the NOOK app as unusable.

After much careful calculation I have determined that I have spent more time in Barnes and Noble than I did in my mother's womb. B&N have given me so many hours of peace and joy. I owe you a lot. Thank you Barnes and Noble. The Nook app is perfect and convenient. Support your local Barnes and Noble. Buy their books. Buy their Nooks. You can read them in a train or on a plane. With a fox or in a box. Read anywhere you wish as long as you buy from Barnes and Noble. Viva Barnes and Noble!!!

Stacks some books together by author, some it doesn’t. Have so many books to go thru would like to have it show the ones completed like Kindle does.

When it comes to the iPad, this app is very buggy. Every time I open it I seem to lose at least 1 book from a series and I have to search for it to archive it, and sometimes it still won’t show up. I’ve tried to send feedback but I can’t because the app says my device isn’t configured to send email. I don’t have near as many problems with my iPhone

Warning: When using the app to browse the Bookstore and view an item, clicking Add to Wishlist places the title in an auto-created public Wishlist. However, the public Wishlist can be modified via the BN.com website. The app has a nice layout; it has been stable for my light reading. However, what other unknown content leaking is occurring? Gone are the days when the consumer's input primarily drove IT product design and function. Now, companies create products for their many data-sharing partners to make larger profits indirectly through the data analytics market. The data is not technically Sold because the recipients are deemed partners or affiliates.

I love the Nook app. I no longer have my Nook Color, which I loved too, but I was grateful that when I upgraded to an iPad (many years ago), that I could still read all of my Nook books in the iPad too. Now, I can seamlessly switch between devices and still get to the last spot read on the other device.

Overall, I am happy with the app. I don’t have a Nook, and since I cannot buy directly from the Kindle App, I use this one. The prices are fair. I have two complaints. The first is the the formatting is a little wonky at the top of the page. The first line of text is often imposed on top of the header section. It doesn’t make it impossible to read, but it is annoying. The second complaint is that the app doesn’t have an easy way to access bookmarks. I have had times when the app has closed and won’t open immediately to my last bookmark. I have to think back to the last chapter I remember seeing a number or title for and then scroll to find my bookmark. It would be nice if there was a option in the task bar of seeing a list of the bookmarks that had been placed or some quick way of accessing that information.

Long-time Kindle user but I was gifted with a B&N gift card and this was my first experience with the Nook product. I was surprised how poorly the Nook reader compared to the Kindle. I found myself missing the Kindle’s features that so enriched the reading experience for me over the years. Particularly the Kindle X-Ray, dictionary, Wikipedia/Google lookup and the exceptional translation features which the Nook just did not have or were glaringly inferior. Surprised B&N hasn’t made a better reader in response to the Kindle.

I enjoy reading on my nook. It’s made life easy and my books are always on hand. I’m always buying books and rereading those that I really enjoy and also love the fact that I can archive to save storage. I adjust the brightness and the font to what I can read, which you can not do with a hardcover book. I look forward to any and all improvements that are in the future for nook. Something to work on, is I bought a cook book and have to go through everything to get to recipes. Maybe I’m not using the application to the fullest and don’t want to order anymore cook books.🙃 If you have any suggestions, I’m open to them. Thank you for allowing my feed back. I love this app. No joke, my most used app on my phone and I'm pretty much on it every hour. That being said, I'm waiting for the app to update. I wish for the to update the look, maybe even integrate the feature is purchasing books right in the app, not having to go to the site for that. I want to make me own shelves and categories right on the main page - not in a special area! Just give more options to how we shelve and store our books. I.E. I want ways to click the book and mark Read, Not Read, ReRead Again, I have too many books to try to go through and remember. Please just give us some new updates.

I have always love Nook because it made then reading experience as real as possible with it's ability to make the pages look like they are being turned. I could highlight and take notes. I wasn't fond of notes being more like a comment on an excel spreadsheet but I used it. However, now with the invention of the iPad pencil and the Galaxy Note Stylus, I feel there should be setting or month on to be able to use your stylus or pencil.

I love my Nook! I used to travel or go on vacation carrying 4-5 books. This is so much more convenient! Having the glow light allows me to read without disturbing my partner. It’s great! And there is never a problem with a bookmark falling out :). We were so happy with it, we gave one each to our son & daughter-in- law. They live them as well. Thank you for a great invention!

The app does not sync. You can not start in one device, and move to a next one.

It rarely syncs to my Nook!

Thank you for the “ House of Secrets” comic series! Those were the days of high quality comics and this is one of my favorites, with exceptional artists and stories. It takes me back to the excitement and wonder of my youth, with every story a new adventure! It ranks right up there with EC Comics and Warren’s Creepy and Eerie Comics. Please continue to bring us more, there’s no better way to spend a rainy day or stormy night. Caution! You may find yourself in a strange and terrifying “House of Secrets”, just be brave and explore every room and closet and you will be rewarded!

It has great books that are free and bought. I love the app and I hope you do too. It eases my mind to read a book or two on here when I am stressed. Reading for me is an escape. It is a world of things that will most likely never happen to me. Get the nook app now.

Why do I have to download the app again, each time I buy a book?

I have two problems with this app. One, I hate not being able to purchase books in app. It is incredibly frustrating. And second and far more frustrating, books I purchase on line are not showing up in the library in the app. I prefer to give my money to B&N over Amazon, but if this isn’t fixed I will be switching to Kindle. When I purchase a book, I want to be able to READ the book.

Easy organization and retrieval of all my Nook content.

I have owned a Nook for years but recently downloaded the Nook app. I went on a trip and forgot my Nook at home. I downloaded the Nook app to my iPhone, logged into my account and had instant access to my library. Love the convenience of having my library on my iPhone as well as my Nook.

I can it out and read it anytime I wish however I could buy a book while on my phone on my NOOK app

Certain books do not transfer to my iPad. Reader should be notified that it can only be read in nook tablet.

I've had my nook since it first came out. I mostly use my iPad and a few years back downloaded to my phone. Huge Nook fan. Over 200 books I've downloaded and love having them all as I travel and run errands.

This app is no longer compatible with the latest version of iOS. Now none of my Nook books are accessible. What a waste of money.

I've enjoyed using Nook to read several books over the summer. I've not had any issues and would recommend it to anyone. I usually order books online and they download quite quickly to my iPad.

I have Nook on my iPad and Simple Touch. I can log in on those just fine. Can’t log in on my phone even though I was able to log in on the website with the same username and password. The app tells me either I have the wrong password or that I am locked out, neither of which is true, as I can log in with the same info on their site, on my Nook, and on my iPad. I was hoping to read on breaks at work on my phone, but given I can’t even log in I have deleted the app. Maybe I will try again next time it updates, and I hope then I can leave a better review.

But I would like to be able to purchase books directly from the app.

The app is sluggish when flipping through pages and trying to highlight items compared to iBooks. Also, there is no support for multi-tasking. I’m currently using it to read a text book and would like to slit the screen so I can take notes. This works with iBooks and other apps but not with the nook app. The other day a whole displayed as blank and later the text reappeared. I like the table of contents search feature. Easy to use quick response.

Love the app use it all the time. A really helpful future would be some sort of check box so that you know you’ve read a book. When your library gets big it’s hard to remember if you’ve read something or not. Just a suggestion

I'm a book person 100%, I have been since grade school, but I also have vision issues (going a bit blind). I had to give up books because the font was too small, even at one point the large print books. Then Nook comes along! I'm in heaven! Only thing I would change is keeping page numbers on the pages, I know I'd I switch devises the page numbers wouldn't be correct, but it would be close. Thank you!

Better than iBooks. Supports landscape mode. I' be tried many and this is the best for syncing over various devices.

This app is the best!

App is adequate but highlighter is troublesome. Cannot finger drag the highlight. Have to grab handles and drag them which is not easy to do. I won’t go back to kindle and understand BN does not have the resources Big Brother Amazon has, but seems nook should be further along than this

Why isn’t there a “only show downloaded books” option?

But half the time it won't download books at all. Pricing is a heap better than itunes, and you can read them on almost any device. But it's all good naught if you can't even download them!

I’ve been using the nook app for around 7 years now. I can read my books and magazines on my phone or iPad or nook device but I can only purchase from my nook. My electronic subscription to people magazine has come in handy more times than I can count and all the old ones are available in the archives.

The ability to take my books is worth everything to me.

I would like to sub-divide the collection of books in the library so that I could quickly look at choices within a (self) designated group. It would be more convenient for me to look at "new" or " not finished" as opposed to the entire library.

Sorry to say Kindle app is much better. This is quite slow to load. I have a reference book (patterns) on this app that would use more often if the app opened at a decent speed. Long wait to open, then I get to see (but not change) the page the app thinks I was on last (50/50 chance of it being right). Then another pause until I can turn a page. I wish I had purchased this book on Amazon. Other books are fine, but I still prefer Kindle for so many reasons.

I read a lot. The Kindle app has always annoyed me because it does not use page numbers. Nook is the closest to reading an actual book that I’ve found, only better, because it remembers where I stopped reading and takes me right to the page when I open the app. Love it.

Doesn't sync your imported books or even recognize them cross devices. Literally just a book app and it does way too much without doing the basics well. App literally doesn't work until you allow it to send you notifications!? Why does a book app need that? Just a t***** marketing plot

This series gets better and better. Old characters get more fleshed out in each successive book. Hope the next book comes out soon !

User friendly and intuitive app. Nook app lets me take all my ebooks on my phone everywhere, and get quality reading done when I have a few spare minutes, at times when I’d otherwise be unproductive (waiting in lines, waiting for an event to start, etc)

The app works easily and I enjoy reading my Nook books. The reasons why I don't give the app 5 stars are very personal: 1) I wish the page numbers always showed and 2) I wish the menu items in the top right were spread out across the top so I wouldn't have to go through 2 steps to, for instance, look up a highlighted word. Otherwise it's a dream.

Every thing seem ok , except it deleted my document.

I’m currently using my 3rd Nook. It’s the largest size with a light. I’m so happy that I decided several years ago to purchase it over the Kindle. You can do everything with it! Check email, Facebook, Camera, Excel, play game and most importantly, read to your ‘‘heart’s content.” I’ve been very pleased with Barnes & Nobles. It’s still nice to have hard copy books too! I’m happy to receive emails from BobBooks too. Lots of great reading selections at reduced prices and free! I Love my NOOK...

I can’t buy the book by of some unknown reason :(

Using on an iPad Pro 10.5 and it constantly crashes. I have tried rebooting and reinstalling several times. It is really unfortunate because my son had a few books we bought and now we can not open them. All I get is a white screen. Please fix! It now will open, but does not respond during setup to the “swipe for next page” animation. You can not continue setup. App is completely non functional.

Nook App is great! My mini iPad is perfect for reading a book from my growing collection. I just wish that there was a “Not Yet Shelved” option for auto sorting the books. It’s difficult to remember what I’ve already shelved when I get many books at a time.

I want to buy a book. I don’t want to read the sample then get an email. I want to buy the book. Why do I constantly have to wait to read a book? Just make it simple. I want to purchase the book. How does this app have 5 stars?

I can't find the way to do the things this upgrade promises. It says to go to settings and then pick Nook (that isn't a choice - you can't pick Nook) and that's the only way to change the settings to enable you to bookshelf all ur authors together. This upgrade doesn't work and I'm more confused than I was before. The app is hard to navigate. The prior versions allowed you to buy the ebook directly from this site. Now it tells you to go to apps to purchase it. That’s not right.

I have read about 60 books and counting, some were not so good but the majority were great and I would definitely recommend this for everyone.

I just love my Nook App!! It’s easy to use on all of my Apple devices, and extremely convenient to have access to my entire Nook library! Having access to the Nook Store is also a plus, but you cannot see the book prices or purchase books which is a negative. Hopefully Apple will allow this at some point in time. I’m a huge supporter of, and a very loyal Barnes & Noble client! Their App has spoiled me ever since my husband bought me my very first Nook for Christmas quite a few years ago!!

Purchased a new book which shows up on other devices but not on my iPhone. Makes this app useless for new reading. Also, why are you unable to make purchases through the app?

I really like my Nook app for iPad! But when I went from my Asus tablet to iPad, I could no longer purchase books through the app. Now I don’t know if it is Apple that doesn’t allow purchase through the app, or Barnes and Noble doesn’t allow purchases through any app any longer. So I have to go on their website. It is not a big deal, just an extra step. Just a bit annoying. But I still use the app!

My iPad updated automatically.. so not sure when the problems started. My nook app deleted all my bookmarks, un downloaded my book I was reading. This happens 2x after I downloaded and found my place. This is the first time I have ever had any problems with it. Hoping for update soon!

This app is not good. Full screen all the time is poor. Limited functionality. While I want to use this over Kindle, kindle is better right now.

This app is very good. I think the only problem I have with it, is that doesn't allow me to purchase nook books on my iPad. I must use my android phone to purchase books. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do.

Great product. Latest version is easy to use except when you want to web search a name since it seems to take only one word for the search.

I use the Nook Ap daily as a support for my meditation practice. Delighted I can use it on my iphone X.

I don't like having to flip pages too often. For the Nook app on my iPad the minimum font size is way too large compared with the iBook and Kindle apps. When I set it to close line spacing that font size leaves the lines almost touching each other. (iOS 9.3, iPad 3). I now regret having recently bought a book on the B&N site for this reader, I should have gotten it on Apple's book store.

Barnes and Noble E-book app for iPad makes for a great reading tablet for all. iBooks - Kindle - Nook - Kobo among other third party erasers. The iPad is the perfect platform for a better reading expeience. Thank you.

Has more settings than Kindle, with a built-in store, and B&N has much better customer service than the oligopoly Amazon.

UPDATE 2018/05/04: Just got off chat with Nook Support. Fix was to delete the Nook app and reinstall it. Works fine now. So glad, because I really depend on being able to read all my books in the Nook app on my very portable iOS device!! Thank you!!! ORIGINAL: Was really looking forward to reading my five new Nook books on my iPod Touch Gen 6 (just updated to iOS 11.3). However, the loading/syncing progress icon just spins forever with no books downloaded (tried many times in the past day and a half). I am properly signed in. Downloaded successfully on my Window 10 Pro app, which is just a backup; my iPod Touch is the primary Nook reader app. Please fix!

Since I was 5, I have had a book in my hand. I read anytime, anywhere. Thank goodness for technology...some books I carried with me were HEAVY! My new Glowlight 3 is so lightweight and the “night” orange glow is so easy on my eyes and my husband can sleep better. Thanks B & N.....I am a fan forever!

Love the Nook App except it would be nice to be able to purchase books directly right from the app on your phone or iPad or tablet instead of having to go to the web or go to your nook device. Also, I would like to be able to have my shelves from my nook device sync with my nook app.

I've had a Nook for years and I love it. But......it would be great if you could buy books from the Nook/Nook app instead of having to log into the Barnes & Noble website to purchase.

For some reason, nook storage is over 300mb and no books downloaded. All tech support has been able to do is multiple sign outs and reinstalls. This behavior can't be normal. I have other reading apps with dozens of books downloaded and the storage used is correct. 5/2/2018 Recent updateto the Nook app corrected the excessive shortwave use issue. So I am upgrading the review to four stars. I am subtracting one star due to extremely poor customer/tech support

Overall, decent app but needs to have the ability to scroll instead of only turning pages. Sometimes I can’t see the bottom of my phone as I’m trying to read a book and therefore can’t see the bottom of the page. iBooks has the best reader just for this ability alone. Add this ability and easily a 5 Star app.

I love the nook app. I love Barnes & Noble. But I hate that I need two apps to be able to read ebooks. I have a phone with not much space and no slot for expansion. I have to instal the B&N app and uninstall it to be able to have enough space. It’s very inconvenient.

I love this app so much, my nook died so I can finally read my books again! BUT I can’t download new ones, and don’t really have a use for a nook just to download new books. Would love to see that in the near future

It used to be that I could by my books through the app, but that’s no longer an do that... if they make that an option again then I will change this to a wonderful review and make it 5 stars!

They should make available a complete set of books like The Adept. Once you have a set of books, they should keep it available. To many times I have had to search for them. With the Adept there are two books not available. I have had to replace the Harry Potter series, Clan of the cave bear series, The hunger games and Twilight series.

A must read for parents. It could happen to anyone in today’s digital world

I’ve tried many different apps. This one is the best by far. More options for page and font colors which helps at night & in the sun. It’s like they say when a company focuses on being the best at ONE thing, they are the best.

I feels pretty much every other time I use the app I have to reload books

I started reading a book for my book club. Next day I couldn't read it. B&N insists user must log in first! I paid. I downloaded and now B&N refuses to let me read my book. Customer service says won't refund money because I have to login to read my books!! Next thing B&N will charge by the minute to read my books.

I can’t say I was crazy about either character for most of the book. Griff is in no way my new book boyfriend. This book is worth reading but it isn’t one you just can’t put down.

I am a book addict and now I have all my books in one very small space! Right now I have over 600 books in my Nook. There is no way for me to have that much bookshelf space. So yeah....I really do love my Nook.

Been using Nook for over a year on my iPad. It just updated and now is frozen on a book that I cannot read, close, or otherwise get rid of. Give me back the old version! If I could have marked no stars, I would have! The library shows all the recently read archived books and they don’t go away. This update just is the most unfriendly, un-useable, ridiculous-ness ever. There was nothing wrong with the old system. I am getting so frustrated that I am considering deleting this app and switching to Kindle!

I loved my old old Nook. Primitive and only for reading. But I put in my back pocket, sat down and damaged it. This Nook app on my phone is the next best thing.

Improved some issues, but the scrolling could still use improvement.

Dictionary is now nonfunctional as is directs you to internet, and an annoying screen pops up forcing you to close it.

I’ve owned a Nook Color since they first came out, then continued to read on my iPad when it’s battery stopped taking a charge. I now also own a Nook Paperwhite and the problem I have with the device and the app is font size. On my iPad Pro, I can’t get the font size to increase as much as I need for my poor eyesight and on the Paperwhite, the largest font size is so big it seems only a few words fit on the screen, while the next size down isn’t quite large enough. I didn’t have this problem with my original Nook device and seem to remember being able to increase the font size further on the Nook app before it was last updated. This is why I read ebooks nowadays—because the print size on everything else, from books to magazines, is too small. It would be wonderful if an intermediate font size could be provided for the Paperwhite and the ability to further increase font size in the Nook app.

I beta tested the new app and many items were corrected. Now that the app has been released multiple problems have returned. Items like not retaining last page read, books not loading, format of books not showing all the contact, etc.

Just placed an order and normally it goes straight to my nook app. Today it’s acting like I haven’t even placed my order. Even the website and my account doesn’t show the order but I received an order number via email.

Love this app just wish you could buy books from it!

The Nook blacks out or completely jumps out of the app every single day. Often I send a file to the Nook and it never shows up! It’s very frustrating and I used to solely use this app it was so amazing before all the updates.

Why can I not search genre in free books? I’ve had nook a long time and thought at one time I could. It’s been a few years since I’ve used this app. My Mom haven’t found a way to do it either. There are a ton of Free books, ty authors. But the list is extensive and to time consuming searching for books in the genre I want. I tried search, it will ONLY bring up books we have to pay for! Same with authors! Why can we not choose the genre we want? I hate reading mysteries and there are tons of them in the free book list. My Mom prefers romance only, huh.... way to many books to scroll to find some. If there is a way to pick genre in free books, can someone please tell me how to do this, step by step. The upper top left corner has search choices, but not for genre! Because majority of people prefer to look up books by genre I give this app 2 stars. If there is a way, or if you allow us to search by genre I’d be happy to change to more stars for sure. Who has time to look through so many books all put together. Most people I know prefer a genre / subject to read.

I love everything about this app EXCEPT that you can't buy books on it. My nook broke years ago so it's not convenient to get them anymore

I really need to be able to have a BOLD font. Bold fonts are darker and easier to read for those of us with vision issues. Also when highlighting text, I would like to keep the same bold black font instead of changing the font color. Otherwise I have no issues.

I had a wishlist started in my Nook app and had over 400 books on it. This is the list I go to when at the store or the library to see what I want to read next. I opened the app this week to add a few title and more than half of my list has disappeared. Now I can’t remember 200+ titles and have no idea which ones I have lost. I am very frustrated that I have to rebuild my list now. Any thoughts on why this would have happened??

I can’t get into the my books. Lousy app. I have over 100 books. Really lousy app.

It is better than it was (see my previous review below). There are still improvements that would make it simpler for those who are not technically inclined e.g. my mom :), therefore making life a little less trying. Previous Review: Not a bad job. I am coming from a nook HD plus. And there are a few small improvements very small I think could be made. Mostly I am having an OCD moment and obviously I do not like unexpected changes in my world, so these are very minor changes. So all in all I really like this app.

For some reason, the current version has stopped saving my place when I stop reading and will instead jump back to the beginning of the chapter. For someone who starts and stops wherever I feel like it, I have accidentally reread pages before realizing this has occured.

Captivating! From the moment Sacia jumped out the transport to the end, I felt, heard, and sensed each and every experience she was faced with. The author grabbed me and threw me into the story! I understand this author has a series based on this character. I cannot wait.

Since the latest update, the app closes and “forgets” where I was while reading. This is not easy to remedy other than bookmarking every time I stop reading. Love the app and have been using it for years already. Please fix this issue...

Love reading with this app on my iPad. Better than the other apps I have. Wish I could buy books through the Nook app directly instead of having to go to B&N app though.

I love reading from Nook. I have for several years. I don’t like not being able to purchase when I go into the store.

For those who have visual disabilities, myself included, the print size is not nearly large enough. Kindle gives me much better options for size and font.

Whenever I try to report series grouping issues through the Settings portion of the app, I get an error message saying this device is not configured to send email. However, if I try and do it on my iPad it works just fine. But iPad syncing an iPhone syncing don’t work the same way, so any series grouping errors and I report on my iPad I also have to report on my iPhone to get fixed. Which is the nuisance.

Until this recent upgrade, I have had no issues with the app. Now, I can’t even open the wretched app to read. If just keeps loading and loading and doesn’t actually show me anything. Please fix! I’d like to read before bed again.

If you lock it in landscape mode, when you close the app and reopen it, it will be locked in portrait mode. Very annoying to have to go to the settings to un-lock and re-lock. Every single time. This is the main reason I use the kindle app instead even though I would prefer not to give amazon any $.

Good app, especially convenient for traveling, but not as many book title choices as Kindle, nor as many convenient features (such as ability to highlight and copy & paste passages).

I find it awkward and hard to navigate. I have a nook and wanted a bigger screen. I don't see where I can buy books. I had to put them on a wish list and then buy from my actual nook or website. The search is awkward and clears your old searches. It is hard to exit the current screen and search. I have to randomly tap the screen in different places so I can find the search menu.

I love reading on my Nook. I do wish there was a better way to organize my books though. This one is not very user friendly.

I have to admit.....I haven’t read a real, hands-on, hardback or paperback, book since I got my first nook almost 10 yrs ago. And I read everyday. I love having so many books to choose from in my library, on my phone or iPad, wherever I am. My husband is another story....he has an iPad and phone too, and I’ve seen him reading on them now and then, but he still considers himself an old school book reader. Real books. He says it’s not the same when you can’t turn the pages. I say, I TURN THE PAGES ON MY NOOK TOO! Whatever.....he’s on a first name basis with our librarian, and that’s ok too. But I’m hooked on my Nook.

Sometimes a new book purchase will not appear on app even after a refresh. It will suddenly appear at random.

If I didn’t read on my phone or tablet at night, I’d have no time to read at all and Nook makes it easy. No lights allowed in the bedroom when husband is trying to sleep

Every time I close out of the app I have to re-download the book I am reading. Why can it never keep the book downloaded? I like the app besides that!

The highlighter function fades out the print underneath it. I checked the help section and it also did the same thing on the demo there, but at least there (the old version?) you could undo a highlight. I couldn’t find a way to unhightlight and when I tried to email help I got a “bad request” page instead. Several other links on their website also led to a bad request page. My nook app is updated. The bright side is they were the only ones who had the book I was looking for.

You cannot easily (if you can at all) purchase in the app. Defeats the purpose.

The Nook app is reading books, right? I own many Nook ebooks, but since the new update, I can’t get it to let me buy a new book. I’ve clicked on everything, but no option to actually buy a book. I prefer to buy ebooks from B&N, but I’m traveling so for today, I’m going to Kindle for this book. I even sent a support request email to B&N. No response😠😠

I love Nook. Got three books going at the same time and can easily switch among them according to mood, time of day, point of reference. Got my iPad precisely to use Nook and I've never been disappointed. Now, back to my reading!

Over the past couple of months my reading experience has been diminished. Each time I leave the book and try to begin reading it later the book will reset to the beginning of the chapter, even if it only goes to sleep for a mili-second. Sometimes it even goes back a couple chapters. Very difficult to finish a book.

I did the recent iPad update and I cannot see any of my books or information on my Nook. I have hundreds of books on this device. How do I get back

If possible when a book is archived move it to archive and remove it from the recent purchase screen. Kindly only list recent purchases on that screen. Recent reads should be archived and not showing so there is more space for recent purchases books. Yes I took your suggestion and looked into all titles and recent sadly archived books are listed there as well. I enjoy the archived section but all archived books should be there and not showing in other screens. I buy several books at a time and am currently keeping a separate paper list so I can look for them in my nook app - under all titles recent but there are books I have read and archived but are listed and not identified as archived. If this fix can be programmed I would be thrilled I don’t know if anyone else has requested this but many thanks for any effort you are able to do with this request. PASSAT Lady I am anxiously awaiting the next update hoping the archive fix will be included. It will be great to see archived books in recent reads and recent purchase moved to the actual archive file and recent purchase listed in the split screen recent reads, recent purchases. Yes I can click to the recent tab as you suggested but it’s a duplication of clicks. I am not happy with it at all. Trouble getting back to library when I finish a book. Doesn't pick up the new books I purchase when using my Nook Reader. Had hoped for it to be something I would enjoy but has been more frustration than happiness.

The app is great & VERY convenient, I just wish they would bring back the ability to purchase books thru the app. It is VERY inconvenient trying to hunt up a computer whenever I find a book I want to purchase. Even the mobile site doesn't let you purchase books. Instead, they should have just increased the steps necessary to confirm a purchase.

I bought 2 ebooks from B&N. I can’t find any menu or instructions that allow me to download the books. The app has NO working buttons, NO working swipe or smart touch design, no NOTHING that you can use to get back to your own start Page, or off many of the pages you can get on to. Quit and reload, and it goes right back to the page I’m trying to get off. I should point out that I’m a very experienced tech person. This design and implementation is trash enough that it got me to write a review, which I don’t bother with too often. I’m sticking with Kindle, which works as you might expect a reader app to work.

Everything was fine with the nook app up until recently when the app would sync on its own and all books in the library would disappear. I tried re-loading them many times but they keep disappearing within a matter of a few hours. I now use the app which came with iPhone but it does not have as many options as the NOOK app but it does not delete my books either.

I love the fact you can make the letters bigger or smaller, depending on if I can find my glasses. It is easy to get from one book to another. The only down side is sometimes it doesn’t open, but I just have to back out and reopen.

Thank you Barnes and Noble for this updated app which allows me to keep my books catalogued properly for my Nook Glowlight. Very easy to use. However, it would be so nice and more efficient to be able to order books from this app rather than having to go through the Barnes and Noble website which is not all that easy to navigate.

Не скажу, что все уж совсем идеально (таких ридер приложений пока нет), но как альтернатива основным читалкам nook вполне приемлема. Хорошие настройки для чтения позволяют выбрать приемлимые для читателя формат, вид страницы, интервалы… ну в общем чтоб глазу было приятно. Хотелось бы, чтобы при чтении отображался прогресс (сколько страниц осталось в главе). Ну в общем неплохо. Да и библиотека выглядит недурно, хотя нет привычных полочек с книгами, все таки это не просто столбик с названиями. Книги легко закачиваются, причём с общ библиотек, можно покупать, но выбор русскоязычной литературы очень ограничен. Но это проблема многих иностранных ридеров. В общем достойное приложение, разработчики постоянно обновляют его, адаптируют к новым девайса, так что возможности постоянно меняются в лучшую сторону. На моем айпаде приложение занимает почетное место.

Also this app gives you samples which I do like but after reading the sample you want to read the rest of the book but you can’t! What a hassle. No, I don’t use the criminal enterprises know as Facebook or Google to simply log in. Then they want me to leave the app and go to a website to create an account. Want my current location? For books? Why? Sorry. I’ll use another app.

The app would be 5 star except for the fact that you auto archive my magazines. I am going to cancel my subscriptions due to this. Every time I want to find something I bookmarked or a recipe it is ridiculous that I have to download the magazine again. Also being able to print a page of magazine would be nice Why can't we shop from this app? I would buy more. Why don’t some of my magazines show completed when I have been all the way through them?

You can’t do anything with this app except to read. You cannot even buy books or magazines. You also cannot export or open a PDF of your own in another app. You can do all that and more with the iBook.

Would love to make purchases directly from Nook app. Also, purchase audio books.

Went to read the next book in a series I read and I cant purchase from the app. I love this app but it’s such an inconvenience having to switch to my browser to buy books. Please allow us iOS users to buy books from the app. I didn’t have any problem with my Android.

It’s mostly basic, the series grouping most of the time is incomplete & can’t edit & add the missing ones. Improvement is the series order from first to last in the series. I really miss eReader & mobipocket.

What happened to nook kids !??! I was just looking for it for my kid Connor, and it’s GONE. What the heck happened?

I haven’t been using this app for five minutes yet, and I already find it super annoying. Every time I try to scroll up to continue reading the description of the book, the description collapses and I have to tap the more button to keep reading again where I left off. I only downloaded the app because it sounded like Barnes and Noble was providing an e-book version of the Mueller report, only to find however that it is just the original PDF that was formatted for printing on standard size paper. It hasn’t been reformatted to make it easy to read on an iPhone or iPad. Seems like that was more of a ploy to get people to download their annoying app.

Seriously need to figure out why the book loads sometimes and other times you need to turn the phone off and then on for the book to load for reading.

I use this App everyday to read my library. The only issue I had was when I updated to iOS 12.2 , I had to reload one book which was showing up with blank pages.

For the love, can we please get a list view that doesn’t cut off titles and the ability to sort books MANUALLY! Organizing lots of books and getting series in order is pretty near impossible in this app. Why cant I sort my books manually? I can, however, sort them by title from Z to A. This may be the most useless feature ever created by a software developer. And, yes I’m counting Bob the paper clip thingy from Microsoft.

Getting customer support is like pulling teeth, and the settings portion is basically a run around. Waste of money and time. Will not be buying another book through them again

I have always used Nook as my reading App. For the last 6 years I have used it and it is easy to navigate through. I enjoy it and I never have had any problems with it

I loved my Color Nook and when it finally died after several years of using it I was very excited to learn I could have the app on my tablet and still read all of my collection. However, i found out you can't actually do that and it is actually a very troublesome process to get a bit ok. I do not understand why in the world that a person can't order from the app. It is so aggravating to have to log in one place and order then leave that to go download the books and read them somewhere else. I find myself turning to Kindle more and more because it is a one stop shop. If you want to keep your readers then fix this huge problem.

I have been reading my Nook for years. The first one I bought still works great. I now have three . Yes I know why. Simple all I have to do is be lazy. Pick one of the up in a different room of my house and read them . Why not life is hard enough so keep your reading simple. Read on and dream away the everyday life of others peoples needs and enjoy yours. Go to your Nook and escape to your imagination. It makes life better! :)

The app works easily and I enjoy reading my Nook books. The reasons why I don't give the app 5 stars are very personal: 1) I wish the page numbers always showed and 2) I wish the menu items in the top right were spread out across the top so I wouldn't have to go through 2 steps to, for instance, look up a highlighted word. Otherwise it's a dream.

I have been using the Nook app for years and have literally thousands of books. I just recently got the new update when upgrading my android phone for an iPhone and am extremely disappointed that suddenly I can no longer purchase books through the app? Seriously?! This is quite infuriating and will force me to go to the competition, amazon kindle. I suggest the app go back to allowing digital purchases I see a serious decline in books purchased if it stays this way.

My Nook has been such a tremendous pleasure in my life! I used to pack at least a half a dozen books with me on a trip or a vacation. Now l pack my Nook!

This app is phenomenal. to those of you complaining you can’t buy books in app, APPLE TAKES 30% OF IN APP PURCHASES ROBBING BARNES AND NOBLE OF REVENUE, which is why they force you to buy books outside the app, because greedy apple considers a book purchase an in app purchase and takes 30% of the revenue. The only missing feature is word translation that is present in the kindle, where you can tap a word and have it spoken. Everything else about this app is great!

I find the search capabilities to be very limited. Doesn’t find the exact search. Gives responses that are only a portion of the actual request. Also, app makes it hard to find obvious tools like sync. Needs lots of work.

That’s right. The best of the best of all of the e-reader apps I have tried. Functionally very reader friendly. Enough that an old guy like me can figure it all out and have no problems with all of the features. Better than real paper books even due to an eye problem I have. The Nook app on the iphone is great!

The Nook app is easy to use and searchable- when you get too many books, it will move the oldest books to the cloud. I would recommend it to you.

I recently purchased an iPad to replace my dying nook. Prior to the latest nook I had a nexus 7 android device running the nook app and before that a nook 1st gen. Imagine my surprise and frustration to find the shop tab in the iOS version was pretty much useless. I can no longer go to details on a book, look through others related by author or series, and click buy. I have to launch a browser auth into B&N and then search for it. Combine that with my first attempt to search for a book, I was reading a sample of, failing to find it by EXACT title name in the search bar and it has turned one of my biggest ebook conveniences into an exercise in frustration. I had to search by author and scroll through to find it. What used to be a few clicks and go back to reading now is a frustrating process of several steps. The first step of which is closing the nook app. At this point I may just stop after that step and go to another reading app. Sure it can still read the book but I can do that in any one of several reading apps with many of the same features. Looks like I may be using my kindle app more in the future.

I want to be able to purchase nook books through the nook app. Please make this happen. Making me go through safari to do the purchase is ridiculous! It’s not going to make me buy a nook. I’ve already purchased several nooks over the years and love the convenience of purchasing right in the nook store. However you have not improved the nook technology so I no longer want to use my nook. I want to be able to purchase books through this nook app.

Not one book on my new iPad mini 5 will hold the bookmark. Each time I open the nook app it goes to book I have been reading but the out side cover then I have to try to find where I left off. I have deleted the app and reloaded to no avail.

Was really looking forward to reading my five new Nook books on my iPod Touch Gen 6 (just updated to iOS 11.3). However, the loading/syncing progress icon just spins forever with no books downloaded (tried many times in the past day and a half). I am properly signed in. Downloaded successfully on my Window 10 Pro app, which is just a backup; my iPod Touch is the primary Nook reader app. Please fix!

I just purchased a book through the Barnes and noble website because the nook app told me that I couldn’t purchase my book that way and the book isn’t in my library at all. It’s still showing up as a “sample”.

Everything I need is at my fingertips! Easy to maneuver thru all nooks useful features.

I am afraid I do not like the latest update. It is far more cumbersome to find the new book I want to read. Before, it would automatically sync to my Nook and the new books would be right at the top. Now I have to search. I don't like that. Still don’t like the new update. Your trying to make it easier is making it hard we for me!

I was always someone who swore I'd never use nook or read on my phone/tablet, because I loved feeling my book and holding it, turning the page, etc. But I'll honestly never go back! Lol! Nook is incredible!! Sooo easy and convenient to use. I eat all the time when I read, & it's soo much easier to just tap my screen to turn a page rather than try and hold my book down and turn a page while I eat and read. I also love how nook prices are so much cheaper than buying an actual, physical book. I love that I can read anywhere, anytime at just the touch of my screen. No bookmark required and I always have my phone on hand. I love it!!! I love how I can see what books are rated high and/or recommended for me. I honestly can't say enough good things about nook!!! Very user friendly. Readers generally put me to sleep more than books. Love the Nook when we go to the beach.

In previous versions the font increases were gradual. In the current version if you tap A+ to increase the font it goes from super small to super big with one tap. So the font is either too small or too big with no in-between. I hope the next version adds more gradual font increases back.

Why login again each time a menu item is selected? At least put a time out before requiring a password re-entry. Plus this app is getting slower for each selection. Be it server or software, I can deal with Amazon or Walmart in much less time.

As much as I appreciate being able to use the Nook app with my iPad, I do wish I could purchase books in it too. Currently it’s necessary to purchase books online before you can read them in the app.

Generally a great reader, and I’m addicted to my reading. Last update,though, caused a problem in landscape orientation. I have to turn my reader to portrait in order to read the first paragraph of each chapter. 😒

I'm not sure what it is you want me to review. I enjoy the library type of books I am able to maintain. I also enjoy that I can read them through the Nook app on my IPad.

I’ve been a Nook customer for about nine years, first with the original Nook reader, then a Nook Simple Touch, and now as an app on my iPhone. I simply love it in all of its forms. The only complaint I have is with the latest update on my iPhone. In previous versions the capability existed to look up a definition for any word you wanted, not just one highlighted from the text you were reading. You simply highlighted a random word and then changed the it in the definition to whatever you wanted. That feature seems to have disappeared. You can still look up a word from the text but you can no longer change it to find the definition of another word. This was one of the features I enjoyed the most and would really like to have returned in a (hopefully quickly developed) future update.

I would give 5 stars if my app didn’t crash and freeze daily. Also not all books are available on the nook which is a pain. I switch between nook and kindle constantly due to unavailability of books

It may be old, but it has never failed. Very good app. If you have an older nook or want the app to read on iPhone or iPad, this is it.

3/4/18 Just bought a new Nook book and every time I try to open it (tried at least 3 times) the app crashes. 😡 Rebooted my iPad and still the app crashes! I cannot open my book. 😡😡😡 Even archiving it and re-downloading it I still can’t open it. 😡 Oddly enough, it opens ok on my iPhone.

I would love to use this app because I love reading and I thought oh maybe I can just read some books on this app in my spare time but it turns out, if you want to read a book on the app, you have to purchase that same book from Barnes and Noble to read it on the app! I just wish you could read a book on this app without having to purchase it first.

I have had a nook e reader for 5 years now.my nook is amazing but is a little bit much sometimes. This app has made it so easy for me to have my books with me at all times

The current book I am reading makes me download it every time I go into the app. Frustrating.

I enjoy the Nook app quite a bit. I have it on my phone and iPad and I have an older NookHD. My one complaint is that when you organize your books into bookshelves there is no way to sort them by author or title. They just get thrown in there any which way or by most recent. And when you have as many titles as I do (closing in on a thousand) being able to sort them within my shelves would be much more helpful!

Reading in the app is fine, as is accessing and managing my entire library. It would gain a higher rating if there was a way to purchase books from either the book app or the main BN app. I mean, what good is a digital store app if you can’t make purchases from it? Considering you can purchase digital content from the nook device itself, this makes no sense to me. It would also gain another star rating if they had competent people working the customer “help” center. I have never been more frustrated than when trying to resolve an issue with BN. First off, the 800 number is a joke. It is impossible to get through to a live person. In the miraculous chance you do reach someone, it’s some off-shore, non-English speaker who doesn’t understand what I’m asking and is completely incapable of providing any help. I miss the old BN who had competent people working the help line and could understand what was going on instead of just reading from their script.

This book has been a real awakening for me. I’m sure I will get more out of it the second time I read it. It is deep and to the point on all counts. Love that I can read the books I’d gotten on my ancient Nook on my phone because my Nook is a piece of crap. Would love it more if, when I went to purchase more books, they actually had the prices for books and I could purchase them without having to go to a website (that seems to rarely work...) or use yet another s***** app!

Love my nook. This app has issues! It has frozen, I cannot turn a page. How do you uninstall? I am not tech savvy and very frustrated. Well you showed me how to fix this app and it is perfect. Found how to uninstall, made sure was fully charged, turned off overnight and when opened it up was fixed. Thanks for the help. I love my new iPad and along with my nook tablet I go everywhere with my nook books. Much easier to take tablet than 2,000 books. Thanks again. One very happy customer.

Have nook color and really love it but I don’t like that it doesn’t let me know that I already have the book I am ordering in my archive, I have a few books that are ordered twice. Some have a new cover but others are the same,it is frustrating that I paid twice for the same book

I recently switched from a Samsung tablet to an iPad and was shocked to learn i can’t purchase novels in the app. That is very frustrating!!!

I love my Nook app except for the numerous steps needed to remove ,archive ,categorize ,sort ,organize etc. books in your collection. Some books even by the same author cannot be grouped together to make it easier to find in my library. I love having all my books with me whenever I want to read but an easier organization system would be greatly appreciated.

Nearly every time I open this app - several times a day- it makes me download the book I am reading from scratch with no explanation.

You can’t buy books on your phone through the app anymore. I used to be able to read a sneak peak and hit purchase. Now I have to remember the name, go online and buy it when on my phone. I don’t have to do that with my kindle app. I wasn’t a kindle person but I may be now. So sad! I liked my nook app! I have a nook but I rarely use it. I use my phone app instead.

I have always loved my nook app but recently I went from a Samsung android tablet to an iPad and Nook was my first download! I finished my book and went to go buy the next in the series .... but you can’t buy books from the iOS version of the app! Say whaaaaaat?!?!?! I had to download the app to my phone (not giving up my android phone!!) just to buy the book. Not cool!

Im using the app on my iPhone 7. I love having a book at my fingertips but I’m having to repeatedly google how to do things - including closing a book that I’ve finished. There should really be an exit option at the end of the book. This is ridiculous.

I have the original, old nook color but this app makes a great reading platform on my iPads.

I really enjoyed this book. I couldn’t figure out how her double life experience was going to resolve itself. When it became clearer it seemed more realistic. Our imagination is a very valuable tool when dealing with emotional stress. It can provide a method of coping as long as you don’t get stuck in denial. I have a lot of manga through the Nook. When it updated & I got a new IPhone XR, it now skips to page 17 on read or unread books. That skips basically an entire chapters. Archiving & unarchiving don’t work. Neither does deleting & redownloading or restarting the phone. If this can get fixed I’d gladly give it 5 stars. Works fine on my iPad 2 though.

What was wrong with the way nook was . Now, because I cannot finds my library, I have NOTHING to read. Where did all my books go? Why must everything be changed all the time?

If possible when a book is archived move it to archive and remove it from the recent purchase screen. Kindly only list recent purchases on that screen. Recent reads should be archived and not showing so there is more space for recent purchases books. Yes I took your suggestion and looked into all titles and recent sadly archived books are listed there as well. I enjoy the archived section but all archived books should be there and not showing in other screens. I buy several books at a time and am currently keeping a separate paper list so I can look for them in my nook app - under all titles recent but there are books I have read and archived but are listed and not identified as archived. If this fix can be programmed I would be thrilled I don’t know if anyone else has requested this but many thanks for any effort you are able to do with this request. PASSAT Lady

I have almost 200 Nook books but the Barnes and Noble web site is one of the most frustrating I have encountered. I cannot even use my name on this feedback.

I like the app and the concept, however, it would be better if people could purchase directly from the app instead of having to buy a nook or go to the store to get a new book. First of all, this is inconvenient. The closest Barnes and nobles to me is miles away. If I wanted a new book, I would have to travel from queens to Manhattan nearly every day. Second, when a nook becomes old, it becomes weaker and easier to break. I’ve had my nook glow light for around 2 years, and the battery is already dead and the charging port is broken. In order to get new books I would have to buy a new nook. If I could buy books from the app, it would definitely be 5 stars

I’ve been a Nook user for many years. I purchased the original nook e-reader in 2009 and I began using the nook app when the original iPad came out in 2010. I have over 1500 nook books. The recent “improvement” to this app now forces me to have to toggle between 2 views, my library view and my archive view. When I search for an author and I am in library view, I get to see the book I want but I cannot select it because it is archived. The app flashes really quickly as if my book is somehow damaged. I have to then back out and find how to switch to archive view (which is hidden under the ... menu) and then I have to redo my search and then I can see the book and I archive it. This is a pain. The trend with this app is that it gets more and more painful to the point where I no longer want to purchase from B&N. The app was great in 2014. It is unusable in 2019. Hey Amazon—I would pay a small fee to port my BN books to Kindle. Please make this possible.

Totally awesome app better than kindle!

It has gotten increasingly difficult to pick up where I left off in a book! No matter how many times I set a bookmark it never goes back to it when I open my book. I can’t even figure out where exactly it will open; sometimes it goes back to a chapter start and sometimes it will go back to an old bookmark (even when I’ve deleted it). What the heck is going on?

I’ve been reading with the iPad app for Nook for several years. It just keeps improving — with the exception of the last update. There’s definitely a bug. I saw a similar review about the Nook failing to keep the last page read and returning to an earlier position. I have had that problem also. Then the other thing is as I open the app, several times the book fails to open and I’m told to restart my device. Actually, I have to close the app and reopen it and then it will be fine. But this is a consistent problem. Not a huge issue, but still annoying. All in all, though, the Nook app is definitely the best book-reading app out there. Hopefully, the developers will correct these latest bugs soon!

I don’t know what you have done to your app, hut i have been trying for the last 20 minutes to buy a book for my Nook reader and cannot figure out how to do it!!!

The last 4 magazines I have read on the app close out and don’t let you finish when there is 10 pages left. VERY frustrating. I am paying for this subscription!!

This app is my favorite app. I have my original Nook, but sometimes the iPad is more handy to use, since I have the phone and internet connections. I am sorry that the actual Nook isn’t being produced for Barnes and Noble anymore. Genie Lancaster

You seem to have made some adjustments to your system. Since your latest update I have not been able to return to my previous read page. Your system takes me to a previous bookmark, not the one that I had set at the latest page that I had read.

Can’t live without. A virtual library

I don’t really like to pay for the books I like to just go sit down and read a book not have to go look for a book and have to pay for it.

Why, oh why, must you “improve” this app! It is NEVER an improvement!!! It’s not at all user-friendly. I’m generally IT-savvy, but I’m not with this app. I can’t find anything in my library. If I could rate with minus stars, I would. 😡😡😡😡😡

The change to the app is no longer intuitive or easy to navigate. The changes will force me to go to another reader for my books. I don’t like that I have to navigate around archived books or that I am forced to recall a title or the writer to find unread books. This is a really bad update!

The Nook is maybe my favorite invention of the past couple of decades. The technology has even gotten better. Amazing to me. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes books.

This version of the Nook app is much improved over earlier versions. There’s a nice choice of font styles and there are now some good mid-size font sizes. I like the ability to read in 2-column landscape mode. It syncs my place when I switch to my Nook Glowlight eReader. The ability to organize books into shelves is nice, too.

This s latest update has driven my Nook crazy. The bookmarks no longer work accurately. When I reopen a book, it takes me to e random bookmark that may be 100 pages away from target. Also, if I switch from landscape to portrait mode, the words and paragraphs get jumbled. Help!

I like Barnes and Noble. I’ve been a faithful customer for twenty five years. And I used to like the Nook App. But this new version is frustrating to the point of not being worth using anymore. Since the update, the app doesn’t keep my place in the book I’m reading. It freezes on one page in a book and returns to that page every time, no matter how far past the page I’ve read. If I turn the iPad, instead of changing orientation to landscape or portrait, it take me back to the page it’s stuck on. If I close the app or go to the library, when I return to the book it takes me back to the page. At this point I have to write down the page number to search for it or scroll for some time until I get to where I left off. I tried bookmarking the page, but it also clears the bookmark whenever I turn the iPad or get out of the book. It also isn’t syncing across devices. The updated app was supposed to make reading and keeping your place easier. It does the opposite. Very disappointing.

What can I say, I have embraced reading all of my books on my Nook. I will admit it was something I resisted because I love the feel and smell of a book. I realized that I was spending a lot of money on my books. My children said, “Mom, try it you’ll save money”. So, I did try and I go everywhere with my e-reader, everywhere. First, thing I pack when I go on adventures, last thing at night I put aside for bed. It’s my partner or the other half of me. I love to read.

I have been on this app for about an hour trying to figure out how to buy a book I want in my account, why do you always fix something that is not broke, I haven’t been up to this app for quite awhile, and I have never had a problem trying to purchase something or to see what I have already purchased, horrible app.

I love reading from my nook app. I can read anywhere, anytime. I enjoy reading many books at the same time, up to nine. They all coexist inside my phone, tablet and computer. So, really all reading material is available all the time, with a minimal amount of cargo.

W.J. May never fails to surprise me. The characters are well developed...realistic..even flawed. The story enchants you drawing you in. The plot thickens as you turn each page. I bought the whole series after completing the first one. A world that start out seemingly Old world story of kings and bad sons...but opens up to be so much more.

Nook is a very easy and multifaceted platform for viewing reading material. It also has good "tactile" management of interaction in turning pages which is greatly appreciated and gives a satisfying experience. Nook also has, so far, very good updates on its app that have enhanced the ease of reading and management of the library.

I have always been a fan of the Nook, however I do not like the new layout. If I archive a book I do not want to see it on the page any more. It makes it confusing and hard to read. I also get a error almost every time I go to open a book I am reading. Very frustrating.

Why did nook redesign their site\controls & how you navigate your library? It’s much harder to get to books & archived books, it’s got “recent” books up front where I don’t need them as I just finished reading them... it feels like Nook app got cheaper & less user friendly or thought out... I’ve been a HUGE Nook user for years and really hate the redesign...

The inability to purchase directly, & how hard it is to go back after finishing a book tarnish an otherwise great reading app.

When I first got the app it was really nice. Then after several updates on Barnes & Noble‘s end this s***** app keeps crashing I have to keep re-downloading my books it’s completely annoying it makes me love the Kindle app more and I’m sad that I had to give it one star

I am absolutely sick and tired of the Nook app suddenly deciding I am running a little too low on disk space for its own comfort (2.26 GB available) and removing the books from my device and making me download them again. STUPID. No other app does this to me. So, on multiple occasions, I open my Nook app because I’m in the middle of no where (meaning “NO INTERNET ACCESS”) and low & behold ... all my books are gone. My books are the most important item on my iPad ... more than my music, movies, etc. I sure wish Barnes & Noble agreed with me, but obviously not. Nook really, really needs a switch where I can select “NEVER REMOVE A BOOK FROM THIS DEVICE WITHOUT MY EXPLICIT PERMISSION. I AM AN ADULT AND FULLY AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES OF MY DECISION.” If this is something Apple forced on you, that would be good to know too. Please get this fixed. I’m tired of lugging around a semi-useful paper weight when I’m traveling in remote areas. BTW, it’s also a pain to keep re-downloading my books over and over.

This app used to be good but now whenever I pull it up I need to redownload my books (and have not used it on a different device). Normally when at home this isn’t a big deal but when you are taking off on a plane and realize you now can’t read, it’s a bit annoying.

Whenever I try to open the app, it begins to load, freezes, then crashes without even fully opening the app. The same thing is happening on my phone. I’v even deleted and r downloaded the app and changed the setting on the app to log me out. Nothing has worked!

I Love My NOOK! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I wish I could rearrange my books the way I want them and it is virtually impossible. Other than that it's great!

I think you should put a genre section for further organization. For example realistic fiction, historical fiction, fiction, non-fiction, true stories, etc. Plus, I think you should do a sort of thing of where you take the books that are new and send a notification or something for the person to see if they like it. Including, a quiz or something to see what kind of books or genre the person using the app likes. Also, to be more specific, I think you should do a more organized way for books of certain ages like 10-12, 50+, etc. And finally, I think you should be more specific with the kinds of books like, Harry Potter, first person, deaf+blind people, etc. I hope you update the app!

I tried this app out of desperation. I have my own ebooks on iPhone X but reader apps are poorly designed and leave tons of unused space around margins. Not so with the book app. It hits the sweet spot for customization and doesn’t make you pay to change font color. You can fully theme your pages to your heart’s content not just preselected colors like in kindle app. And lastly the best part is that I can load my own books into this app to read. I don’t care for kindle or nook shopping service but just because nook supports bringing your own books, I will take a look at their shop and consider purchasing from them in the future. TLDR: leagues above the kindle app and other e-readers. Well done.

It works ok but seems to eat battery power, brightness setting changes randomly (with updates?), and can't order books from it, which is a bit of a pain.

I downloaded the B & N/"Nook" app, bought a book and haven't been able to access it. When I select the book, the screen turns white with the title of the book on the upper left "page", then my home screen shows up. After calling the local B & N store, I was instructed to go to 'the book.com' and follow the instructions there. Seriously?!

I’ve been a nook owner for about 10 years, I had the nook color, the nook HD, and now the e-tab, I traded the nook color for my e-tab, still using the nook HD! They have been AWESOME!!!! The only thing I miss is downloading movies from BN! Thank you for a GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Nook is my first choice when purchasing books. I love the app but wish there were easier ways to organize and larger capacity.

If you guys would add purchasing from the store right onto this app it would be 20 times better!!! I like the convenience of having my books on my device but it is completely s***** that I have to go to the b&n website to purchase the nook nook then open my app to read it. This app would get 5 stars if you added support of making purchases on the app.

To my surprise this morning I had to resign in and the following happened: 1. App for iOS wouldn’t let me sign in using my UID and pw. 2. After I got locked out (I know my pw!) I had to reset it. 3. Reset pw and signed in 4. Redownloaded my book for the DOZENTH TIME! 5. APP CRASHED WHEN I CLICKED ON MY BOOK 6.Attempted to contact you people via your website for help and it crashed giving me an error 7. DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS NONSENSE FIX IT! 8. I think after all this extremely aggravating nonsense I should be given a free book or something!

Nook for my book needs!

My only complaint is that there is no way to see unshelved books. I typically shelve by author, and I really hate it when I am looking for one and can’t find it because I failed to shelve it. How hard could it be to add?

App will not open. Reinstalled it three times now. This is bad, because I have an account already established, and I can’t access my purchases.

Every time - every time! - my phone locks, I lose my books and have to download them again. As definitions for inconvenient go, that’s pretty good.

I downloaded that app and it doesn’t even open! It crashed the second it tries to open. I have an assignment due tomorrow and I’m REALLY frustrated about this! I paid for my book and I can’t even read it

It’s absolutely ridiculous that I have to re-download the book I’m reading every time I open the app. I went to read my book on the bus, and couldn’t because it had to be redownloaded and I didn’t have access to WiFi. Please fix this!

How do I get rid of the "Articleview"button? It's highly annoying, it blocks several words in magazines. Yes I understand what it does, and I don't want that function.

The only thing I miss from the actual nook is being able to shop on the app. Looking is not the same as purchasing. When it is time for a new book, I get out my nook to look and purchase.

The home indicator bar (white/black s**** at the bottom) appears when you turn the page. It is really distracting to have it appear and disappear every time the page is turned. Please disable this.

This app is an appropriate replacement for when my Nook was stolen. Now, I do not have 2 devices to manage. The only downsides are that I can no longer enjoy on-line magazines or enhanced books. I appreciate the bookshelves as I can organize my library the way that I want it.

A wonderful spell bounding book with enough twist turning events to hold the readers attention all the way from the beginning until the end. From the beginning I just knew this was a book I could ‘t put down until I read just a little more which meant reading until I fell asleep. Then waking and reading more. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a beautifully written love story.

I would have given it a 5 star rating but for the facts that I can’t buy books from my iPad app (have get them at Barnes & Noble’s website), and, no discounts on nook books (only available on paper copy). Otherwise I like electronic books from Barnes & Noble’s wide variety and because I can carry my whole book library with me everywhere I go, on my iPhone/iPad.

For several weeks now I am no longer able to purchase books from nook. I even lost most of the books in my library in my attempt to fix this issue. After contacting Nook’s helpline I was given instructions (which I followed faithfully and am still unable to retrieve my missing library. The Nook app no longer works for iPhones.

There are 4 items available as I open the app. There are perhaps three areas out of those where one can say in what genres they are interested. Looking at a book of some interest, it cannot be purchased using the app, only from Barnes and Noble or Nook. So for me? A useless advertisement for Barnes and Noble. Uninstalled.

When I go about 30 minutes to an hour I get an error and have to download the book again!!

I’m pretty sure there isn’t a purchase option is because Apple wants you to buy from their iBooks app. Lame. This app works great except for the fact you can’t buy books. You have to do it through your browser first.

Actually if I was rating this after only using the android version it would have been 5 stars. The iPhone version makes buying books much more cumbersome than the android versions does. However, switching to iPhone has saved me a lot of money because it’s so much harder to buy the books. Love the ability to use iPad/Tablet and phone both and it keeps track of progress. Great ability to adjust brightness and size of print.

I've been a long-time nook supporter, but I HATE that I can't buy a book on the app! What's the point of a mobile reader if I need to transfer over to the website and login to purchase something?

Before I discovered this app, I was carrying around so many devices. It was such a hassle! So much so, that my favorite pastime became a chore and I found myself not wanting to read. Now... I have this wonderful app and I carry ONE DEVICE! I love reading again. Thank you Barnes and Noble. You have certainly made me a customer for LIFE!!

I've used the nook for quite some time and I find the magazines have excellent resolution and even though I miss the smell of print it still gives me a close experience to reading from the page. I also appreciate being able to see books with graphics in high detail. Finally I appreciate there being a viable option to amazon by a company that actually supports books and reading.

This is the first app I look at each morning before work, on my break and at lunch! I love this app ❤️

I love the books to read but the game Nook is boring

Downloaded material witness by Lisa Mondello, pandered to me as “free” and after reading 138 pages, the “free” book simple ends and moves on to the next of the Mondello stories. Very disappointing that NOOK, BARNES&NOBLE, and MONDELLO would do this as I actually enjoyed the book as far as it went.

I can’t download any of my previously bought nook books, I can’t search for new books in the store..... Seriously, what did you do with this last update?!
